We were privileged to host a distinguished delegation of government, customs, transportation, infrastructure, and port security leaders from across Central America as part of the Protecting Critical Infrastructure & Supply Chain Security in Central America – Freedom 250 Exchange Initiative.

This visit was especially meaningful as our organization was honored to be selected through a referral from the U.S. Department of State to participate in this important exchange of knowledge and best practices. The discussions focused on strengthening supply chain resilience, enhancing trade facilitation, promoting secure transportation networks, and advancing regional cooperation throughout the Americas.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our expertise, showcase our operations, and engage with such an accomplished group of leaders who are helping shape the future of infrastructure, logistics, customs modernization, and trade security throughout the region.

Though the sorrow of that day still lingers, so does our gratitude. We are grateful for the strength of our communities, for the bravery of first responders, and for the enduring spirit of a nation that stands together in the face of adversity.

As PortMiami's new Director & CEO, Jonathan Daniels brings extensive maritime and port leadership experience, and we look forward to working together to support the continued growth and success of one of the nation's most important cargo gateways.

Dear Valued Clients,

Yesterday, I attended the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) Fundamentals of FTZs Seminar at Port Tampa Bay with CIC Operations Manager, Michael Gonzalez. The seminar provided valuable insights into the Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) program, including benefits, compliance requirements, inventory controls, reporting obligations, and best practices for international trade and logistics.

The event also offered excellent networking opportunities with trade, logistics, customs, and port professionals. As President of the Florida Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association, Inc, I value opportunities like these that help us stay informed on industry developments and strengthen relationships across the trade community.

A highlight of the day was learning from FCBF Board Member Torrey Chambliss, Director of FTZ and Cargo Business Development at Port Tampa Bay, who shared expertise on the advantages FTZs provide to businesses engaged in global trade.

The visit included a tour of Port Tampa Bay, providing a firsthand look at port operations and the important role FTZs play in supporting trade, economic growth, and supply chain efficiency.
