Applying for the CNS Cargo Membership, or renewing it? Cargo Network Services (CNS) checks your dangerous goods training at item 6 of its application checklist. Is your team ready?

The checklist asks for current DG training certificates for at least two employees at head office, certified in IATA CBTA Function 7.3, Accepting Dangerous Goods, with at least six months of validity remaining. Each branch office needs one. Certificates renew every 24 months.

New article by Natalia Pérez: 5,046 inspections in five days. The paperwork failed more often than the trucks.

CVSA inspected 5,046 shipments in five days during its 2026 HM/DG Road Blitz and checked 5,805 packages. The leading findings were shipping paper, placarding and training violations, not mechanical failures.

Lithium batteries just got banned from the trash. Warehouses should pay attention.

Starting December 1, 2026, North Carolina law (G.S. 130A-309.10) prohibits lithium-ion batteries from going to landfills or incinerators. A damaged lithium battery is not universal waste: it moves as hazardous waste, with a manifest, to a permitted facility, and the people who pack, mark, and sign for it need documented hazmat training under 49 CFR 172.704.

The new IMDG Code is published and the clock is running.

Amendment 43-26 brings new UN entries for battery systems, a new vehicle safety assessment (SP 980, with SP 961 and SP 962 revised), updated segregation distances for radioactive cargo, and changes to the EmS Guide. Voluntary from 1 January 2027, mandatory 1 January 2028.

2027 New Regulations: Air Transport of Dangerous Goods. Is Your Company Ready?

On 1 January 2027, the 68th edition of the IATA DGR replaces the book your team is using today. Power banks become their own category, new UN numbers UN 3563 and UN 3564 arrive for batteries installed in a cargo transport unit, and the battery mark moves to the same surface as the hazard labels.
