Okay, I’m probably going to get some pushback on this…

But here are three things everyone loves that I think are overrated when it
comes to travel.

Number one… trying to see five cities in seven days.

I’m sorry, but that is not a vacation. That is a logistics exercise. 😂

Number two… booking the hotel with the biggest number of stars just
because it has more stars.

I care much more about the experience, the location, the service and
whether it actually fits YOU.

And number three…
Checking off every single tourist attraction just because you feel like you’re
supposed to.

Sometimes the best day of a trip is sitting at a beautiful table, drinking wine,
eating something incredible and realizing you have absolutely nowhere
else you need to be.

And yes…

POV: You spent years being afraid to do things alone, and then you booked the trip anyway. ✈️

If you’re waiting for someone to go with you, you might be waiting forever.

If you want to become more confident, start doing things that scare you.

If you want to meet new people, put yourself somewhere new.

If you want to discover what you’re capable of, go somewhere you’ve never been.

If you want to create stories you’ll still be telling years from now, book the trip.

Because sometimes the best travel companion you can have… is yourself. 🌍

And that trip you were so afraid to take alone?

It might become the one you’re most grateful you took.

Same day. Different decisions.

I used to spend my days taking care of everyone else... my clients, my business, my family, everyone who needed something from me.

And somehow, I always came last.

A haircut? It could wait.

A little time for myself? There was always something “more important.”

Then I realized something:

If I keep treating myself like the least important person on my list, I’m going to keep feeling like I have nothing left to give.

Taking care of myself isn’t selfish. It’s part of taking care of everything and everyone I care about.

So now, I make different decisions.

✅ I still work hard.
✅ I still take care of my clients.
✅ I still get things done.

But I also make time for me.

Because sometimes self-care isn’t a spa day or a vacation.

Sometimes it’s simply saying,
“I matter too.” ❤️

For a long time, I said yes.

❌Yes to the client who wanted the cheapest option.
❌Yes to the trip that wasn’t really my specialty.
❌Yes to the client whose expectations didn’t match the way I wanted to work.

Because when you’re building a business, saying no can feel scary.

❓What if I lose the booking?
❓What if they go somewhere else?
❓What if I’m turning away money I need?

But eventually, I realized something:
Every “yes” to the wrong client was taking time, energy, and attention away from the clients I really wanted to serve.

So I started getting intentional.

✅I got clear on who I’m best equipped to serve,

✅the kind of travel I want to design,

✅and the experience I want my clients to have.

And slowly, I stopped seeing “no” as a lost sale.

I started seeing it as making room for the right one.

The payoff?

I can give my best clients more of

✨my time,
✨creativity,
✨expertise,
✨and attention,

because I’m building a business around the kind of travel I’m passionate about designing.

And that’s something the old me was too afraid to do.

Sometimes the most important growth in business comes from the clients you learn to say no to.

I thought I was supposed to have my whole life figured out by 18.

I didn’t.

At 14, I felt awkward being the only Hispanic girl in my school.

At 18, I still didn’t know what I wanted to do.

At 21, I graduated from college.

At 26, I got married.

At 32 , started a family.

At 44, I started a business.

At 53, life reminded me just how precious time really is when my husband had a heart attack.

And at 55, I decided to stop waiting and LIVE FOR THE MOMENT.

Today, I’m living my best life. ❤️✈️🍷

Looking back, I realize something:

There is no timeline for becoming who you’re meant to be.

You can start over.
You can change direction.
You can dream bigger.
And you can decide that the next chapter is going to be different.

So if you’re sitting there thinking you’re too old, too late, or too far behind…

You’re not.

Your best chapter might still be ahead of you.

And mine? I plan on filling the rest of my pages with..
travel, wine, incredible food, beautiful places, and unforgettable memories.🌎🥂
