On Silversea, a sea day feels like its own destination.​

Breakfast on the balcony, a slow sauna session, and hours by the pool with no reason to check the time. Lunch at Atlantide, an easy art class, and cocktails in the suite as the evening starts to glow. Sunset at the Dusk Bar, a live show to end the night, and the sense that everything has finally found its rhythm.​

Tourrettes-sur-Loup. High in the hills, carved into stone, completely out of time.

Nowhere else on the Côte d’Azur I’d rather turn another year older—table set with my love, my parents, and zero pretension. Just pure, unapologetic cooking.

Gougères warm out of the oven. Ice-cold Champagne.

Dorade crudo cut razor-thin with yuzu and carrot-cilantro tigre de leche. The main event: a deep, nutty spelt risotto that holds sweet lobster like it was born for it. Lapin à la moutarde backed by melting foie gras.

Washed down with a razor-sharp 2023 Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine, followed by the dark, earthy swagger of a 2020 Humbert Gevrey-Chambertin.

Ended on bitter chocolate mousse chaud-froid and local peaches dripping under rosemary ice cream.

Massive respect to — huge thanks to the chefs in the back for throwing down like that, and to our server for running the room with effortless grace.

Great food, killer wine, the right people. Bref, life doesn’t get much better than this.
