Alliance Int'l Shipping is an NVOCC : A “non-vessel operating common carrier.”

An NVOCC is an ocean transport intermediary, providing transportation services, contracting with steamship lines for the use of their vessels and containers and then making those assets available to customers with cargo to export.

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) defines NVOCC as a common carrier to the public and a Shipper to the Vessel Operating Common Carrier (VOCC/owner of the vessel and containers).

In essence, we provide empty containers and trucking services for delivery and pick up to our clients who load and seal them upon completion. Clients then make a declaration of content and consignee(receiver/owner). This information is recorded in the Bill of Lading, as manifested at export and received at destination, including receiver/consignee, contents, container #, weight, seal number, etc…
