Staying safe as the seasons change is a good move! As all of the leaves fall off of the trees and the weather gets colder and colder, here are some things to remember:

🍁Wet leaves can be slippery, be careful when walking on them or when driving!
🍁It's getting dark early, make sure your headlights are on.
🍁Watch for deer and remember, don't veer!

There's a frost advisory in effect for today and tomorrow! Before you hit the road, take a few extra minutes to clear your windows, windshield, mirrors, and lights. Make sure you have a clear view in every direction before driving.

A little extra prep goes a long way toward keeping everyone safe on the road this fall! 🚗

It's FAQ Friday! Today we're asking, "What exactly is an MPO?"

An MPO, or metropolitan planning organization, is a regional transportation planning body that serves urban areas with populations of 50,000 or more. Essentially, they are responsible for the regional transportation planning process, including developing long-range plans, short-range improvement programs, and ensuring that transportation projects in their area are part of a comprehensive, continuous, and cooperative process. COMPASS serves as the MPO for Ada and Canyon Counties.

It's National Walk/Bike to school day!!

🚶 🚲 As a pedestrian/bicyclist, be sure to be aware of your surroundings at all times and cross at designated crosswalks. Also, always remember to wear your helmet!

🚗 As a driver, be aware that more kids may be walking and biking to school today. Take extra time and care to be aware of your surroundings and stop for kids in crosswalks and ensure you don't drive to close to them in the bike lane.

Make good moves today, everyone!!

Riding your bike safely this fall is a good move! 🍂 🍁 🎃

With the trees changing colors and leaves falling on the road it's important to remember that they can be slippery or hide potholes. Make sure to take your time and be cautious on your local pathways this fall.

A big thank you to our guest speaker Chris Behr, Principal Economic Consultant with HDR, who joined us for our latest Education Series, “Economics of Active Transportation.” We’re so thankful you spent the past couple of days with us sharing your expertise and helping us dive into how the benefits and costs of active transportation projects can be evaluated.

Another big thank you to everyone who attended! We loved seeing so many of you in person and having the opportunity to learn together about the economic impacts of investments in walking and biking infrastructure.
