After much thought and consideration I have decided to make summer 2026 my final summer in operation. After working in higher education for 30 years, running this business concurrently, I retired and put my full attention on Sawtooth Transportation. This is my 22nd summer and my last. If I can find an rv space in Stanley next summer, I plan to run limited shuttles from there.

I have thoroughly enjoyed what I do, especially working with the folks I get to work with. But now it is me time! My kids are grown and it's time to start enjoying full retirement. Hopefully put some miles on my truck and fifth wheel instead of vans and bus.

Thank you to everyone who trusted and relied on Sawtooth Transportation for your shuttle needs over the years!

Prayers for friends in the Stanley basin. Fire is on the doorstep! Evacuation is happening. Be safe and my hopes for control of the Wapiti fire soon so life can return to normal once again.

We have several open dates where we need more passengers for shuttles to/from Boise, Stanley, Salmon, McCall, etc. We have shuttles with 1, 2, or 3 passengers needing more riders who could become new friends to join them on a shuttle to make transportation for their river trips more affordable.

Everyone wins with a full van and excited river rafters!!

We are gearing up for a busy summer. I’m excited! First summer in a very long time I’ll get to devote more time to driving.

We’re getting a lot of calls. Some of those are folks looking for transportation for just 1 or 2 people. We’d like them to have company!! Outfitters, please continue to refer your guests to us and/or remind them they can call us for transportation between Boise and Stanley, Salmon, McCall, and many other locations.

Private boaters, we are here for you too!!!

Today’s trip to Stanley, dropping off at Fourth of July trailhead. Disgusting air in the Stanley basin but nice at the trailhead. Gained enough elevation to get out of the smoke.

Very long day but so enjoyed it. Meridian to Sun Valley to Diamond D Ranch and back to Meridian. Amazing scenery back to the ranch, located on the edge of the Frank Church Wilderness. It ain’t easy!! Narrow and steep road with sharp hairpin turns but the views!!! Even through the smoke.
