The technology giant ABB, which leads charging infrastructure worldwide through ABB E-mobility, arrives in Brazil to join an ambitious project.
This is an alliance with the Bravo Motor Company electric car and battery factory in Brazil, founded by Argentine businessman Miguel Angel Bravo.
The agreement with the ABB company provides for the development of robotics and electrification projects for the production line and charging infrastructure.
It should be noted that the electric mobility division of the Swiss company has just announced the milestone of one million electric vehicle chargers produced, a figure that places the company at the forefront of the energy transition.

Boost for Brazil
The association will work together in the so-called "Cluster Colossus", the gigafactory located in Nova Lima, in Belo Horizonte (Brazil).
With estimated investments of 4.8 billion dollars over 10 years, the complex will produce electric vehicles, batteries and other components for electromobility, serving the domestic and export markets. The start of pilot production is scheduled for 2024.
Eduardo Javier Muñoz, CEO of Bravo Motor Company, explained that the agreement allows ABB to be part of the first Giga Factory project in Latin America based on digitization, which encompasses production optimization, integrated management and sustainability.
“ABB's leadership in digital technologies for industry will undoubtedly be one of the contributions that will enable a state-of-the-art solution in the Colossus Cluster project. This partnership makes it possible to promote innovation, sustainability practices and ESG initiatives in Brazil”, he added.
For his part, Wilson Morais, director of products and solutions for ABB's ELEM division, pointed out that the partnership with Bravo Motor Company in the Colossus Cluster project reinforces the company's commitment to Brazil.
“As leaders in infrastructure for electric vehicles, we are following the evolution of electromobility in the country, which has a booming market. The arrival of more makes and models of electric vehicles is helping boost the sector. Also, many companies have serious ESG policies, and electromobility is a complement to this theme. The projections are the best, since the Brazilian market is very diverse”, he affirmed.
In the specific case of the Minas Gerais gigafactory, ABB's Robotics division will play an important role as a supplier of robotics and machine automation. The company offers a portfolio that spans robots, autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and machine automation solutions.
