📦 Moving Tips Monday: Packing & Protection Edition
1️⃣ Pack by function, not by room
Instead of packing everything from one room into random boxes, group items by how they’re used (everyday dishes vs. special occasion glassware). This makes unpacking faster and reduces unnecessary handling of fragile items.
2️⃣ Create a “buffer zone” inside every box
Breakables shouldn’t touch the box walls. Use towels, paper, or foam on all six sides—bottom, top, and edges—to absorb impact during loading and transport.
3️⃣ Label for placement, not just contents
Don’t just write “FRAGILE.” Add where it should go and how it should be handled (e.g., “Open First,” “This Side Up,” or “Unpack Over Counter”). This helps movers and homeowners avoid damage during unloading.
