Rise & Shine everyone 🌤. Today’s food for thought & tip: have you ever heard someone complaining about moving companies giving estimates and exceeding those estimates? If we tell you a price we stick to it, our word is our bond. We decided to offer all 3 estimates to give you as many options that we can.
Three Types of Estimates:
1. Binding Estimate is the process we recommended to people in order to conduct transparent, fair, and honest business as well as take care of you. The first estimate that you are given will be your final price with no added taxes or hidden fees.
2. Not-To Exceed Estimate is a binding estimate that the amount becomes the maximum amount that you will be obligated to pay for the services on that estimate.
3. Non-Binding Estimate is what most moving companies I have worked for use. There is no assurance the final cost will not be more than the estimate. The mover, however, cannot require you to pay more than the amount of the estimate, plus 10 percent, at the time of delivery. You must pay any remaining charges for any additional services that you requested or that were required to accomplish your move that are over this 110 percent amount, 30 days after your shipment is delivered, if the services or quantities were not included in your estimate. The mover may also collect for any services you requested that were not included in the final estimate, such as an extra pickup or delivery. The mover may also collect for any “shuttle service “ that may be required at delivery if it’s not possible to get the truck close to your new home – but only if the shuttle charges don’t exceed 15 percent of the total charges due.
