I recently saw a television news segment suggesting that travelers should use a travel advisor for ideasโฆ and then go book everything themselves.
I want to gently clear that upโbecause thereโs a ๐๐๐ misconception behind it.

Most travel advisors (us included) are paid by a commission thatโs already built into the cost of your tripโwhether you use us or not. So if you ask us take the time to gather recommendations, quotes, and expertiseโฆ and then book elsewhere, youโre not saving moneyโ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎโ๐ซ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ ๐๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ๐.

When that information is taken and used to book elsewhere, itโs essentially asking a small business to work for free.
This is an industry made up almost entirely of small businesses. In fact, the vast majority of travel advisors are independent business owners, and a large percentage are women building careers and supporting their families through this work.
