HOW YOU CAN DIRECTLY HELP A LOCAL NORTH CAROLINA RELIEF ORGANIZATION:
Cape Fear Volunteer Center in Wilmington, NC
I am heading there for a wedding this Friday and taking what I can.
If you are able to donate directly and bring things to my house this week, or if you live near Wilmington and want to take things there directly, here’s the list from the director of what they need now.
1. Sturdy buckets (like painters buckets, not inside cleaning buckets).
2. Cleaning rags
3. New or very gently used sweatshirts or coats (adult medium or larger). It’s getting colder 😔
4. Blankets
If you want to bring things to me, please DM me or text me if you have my number. Also, the best way to package. This would be to put whatever you can fit inside a bucket or two. I will have somewhat limited space.
You can also donate financially to them using this link : https://www.capefearvolunteercenter.org/donate.html
They are an official 501(c)(3) charity and have been working in the community for over 15 years.
Sorry for the long post. I’m going to share one other post for people interested in being phone volunteers from anywhere in the country to help take calls from disaster victims, and get them in a database so that they become known.
Thank you everyone!
