CATA - Crawford Area Transportation Authority CATA provides mobility for Crawford, Venango and Clarion counties. CATA provides mobility for all! CATA is comprised of over 50 vehicles.

At CATA, we take pride in our motto that “Every Trip Matters” along with our Core Principles of Integrity and Respect. Public Transportation is a lifeline service for rural communities. Our vision for the future is to enhance and expand mobility options for Crawford and Venango counties while continuing our core services of fixed route and paratransit bus service. CATA uses 3 primary vehicle types

in our operation. Our fleet is comprised of Heavy Duy Low Floor Mass Transit buses that run on Compressed Natural Gas, accessible mini-vans and body on chassis paratransit vehicles operating on Propane Autogas and unleaded gasoline. All vehicles are fully ADA compliant. We offer fixed route as well as shared ride services along with our recently launched micro-transit service called Cata Go. Through our non-profit, Northwest PA Mobility Alliance, CATA operates the only rural public bikeshare program in Pennsylvania. We maintain over 30 bikes for public rental throughout Crawford, Venango and Mercer County with plans to expand in more locations.

🚲 A huge thank you to Meadville Medical Center for its continued support of the Meadville Bike Share Program! 👏🫶

We're excited to announce the addition of new EZ Rider 3-speed bikes at the Ernst Trail in Meadville. This time of year is perfect for exploring the trail, with beautiful scenery, plenty of shade, and picturesque views along French Creek.

As part of CATA's mobility services, Bike Share helps connect people with healthy, affordable, and enjoyable transportation and recreation options. We're grateful to partner with organizations that share our commitment to active living and enhancing the quality of life in rural communities.

📢 The Forest County Commissioners and Forest County Transportation (FCT) announce a new a partnership with the Crawford Area Transportation Authority (CATA) that will begin July 1, 2026.

A virtual public meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 9th, 10:00am. The meeting link can be found at www.co.forest.pa.us or www.catabus.org 💻

For those without access to the internet, this meeting will be broadcast publicly at the Forest County Courthouse Annex Building, 530 Elm Street, Tionesta and the Jenks Township Building, 135 Pine Street, Marienville.

⚠️ The three stops that will be primarily affected for the south side loop and unable to be serviced will be
🚏14th and Buffalo
🚏Unimart
🚏12th and Railroad
This will be in effect Monday through Friday.

📌 There is currently no road work taking place on Saturdays and the route will be run normally. 🚍
