Position Overview:

The Transportation Specialist provides safe and reliable transportation to clients across the Western Maryland area. Our Transportation Specialists are required to communicate with dispatchers to ensure timeliness of transportation assignments is met and/or exceeded. All Transportation Specialists for County Caravan must abide by all state-law driving requirements/regulations and pass a pre-employment background assessment.
Essential duties and responsibilities (included but not limited to):
· Coordinate daily transportation services (hours may vary and include weekends)
· Provides safe, courteous, and timely transportation of clients between home and varied locations.
· Ensures the safety and wellbeing of passengers during transports and immediately notifies supervisor of any problems and issues.

Job Requirements
· Ability to operate a vehicle in a safe and timely manner.
· Ability to safely perform duties despite unexpected and unplanned distractions that may arise.
· Must be able to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment and be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Must have an open schedule.
· Possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
Able to operate company vehicle, including 15 passenger vans (must be 23 years of age to drive agency vehicle).
Ability to operate wheelchair accessible vehicles is a plus.
