Bought this truck 3 years ago and rebuilt it in homage to my dad. Had a friend approach me about driving it down to Texas and back. After much thought I decided to send the old girl out doing what my father always did...pulling re**er.

A quick update since we haven’t posted in a while. 95 got some much needed TLC while her pilot had a week off to have Lasik done. The week before Dan took off, 1/5 gear dropped out of his trans. So when he got it back in, our guys got right on it getting the trans out and sending it off for rebuild. It got a new clutch, steer tires, rebuilt trans, some wiring issues fixed, and a new jack shaft between the rears due to a weight getting tossed causing a vibration. Then, his first week back out with it he had a pretty exciting week. He now is getting a new extinguisher, because as he was headed east bound on US-10 by Motley, MN he came up on a Halvor Lines company truck that had just started to catch fire on the side of the road! Despite his best efforts with his extinguisher and the other drivers extinguisher, he almost had the fire out but didn’t quite have enough powder between the two. Fun fact, did you know that Dan actually went to college for firefighting? Here at FTI, our thoughts and prayers truly go out to the driver of the truck that burned down. He was fine, no one was injured, but he had his entire life in that truck according to him. Dan stuck around with him while fire crews and MN state patrol arrived to make sure he was taken care of and had a ride to a terminal. We weren’t going to leave a driver on the side of the road, and obviously neither was Halvor Lines! They sent someone out for the driver almost immediately after they received the call. We are glad to be partnered with a company that shares the same values we do towards their drivers. We are all a family out here

Well, it has been 3 weeks since you heard anything on Truck 95… It came in for a coolant leak from around the spacer plate, and ended up getting the works. While Lucas got the head off it came apparant that it was overhaul time. The liner on cylinder 3 was cracked, and had multiple cracks in the head, so we pulled the trigger and inframed it. We never received paperwork on the motor when we bought 95 so its hard to say how long it has been since it was done, but with 2.9 million miles on the old girl It got open heart surgery, and a pretty new paint job to the motor (with some colorful touches of blue to match the truck). Also while it was in we decided it was time for new drive tires and king pins, and new drive brakes, and sent it off to get aligned today! Starting next week, Dan is back in his home(which will make him happy) and will have no more issues from here on out! A HUGE shoutout goes out to Lucas on getting the motor and kingpins in, and Mitch for getting the drive tires and brakes all done along with helping Lucas with the kingpins! Thanks guys for making sure 95 got back up and running, we truly don’t know what we would do without you! (Don’t mind the uncropped photos, I just realized I didn’t crop the screenshots and theres too many pictures to go back and do it 😂)

Happy Thanksgiving! On this holiday We at Fischbach Trucking Inc. are thankful for a lot of things. Our drivers for professionally carrying themselves at all times, without them there’s no us! Our sister company and shop, JJS, for always doing everything in their power to keep our trucks on the road and moving. Our office staff for answering the phones and keeping all of our paperwork in line. And specifically this Thanksgiving, we are thankful that when a driver under the influence pulled across the highway in front of Dan in the 359 yesterday morning he could keep control of the truck after blowing his steer. This accident could have ended a lot worse, and thankfully everyone involved walked away and our truck can be fixed. Keep in mind this holiday season that if you are drinking it is never worth it to risk yours and others lives, be safe and call for a sober ride. We wish you all a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!

Well Dan is in the 359 while his is in the shop. Still not giving any updates on his until it is done. Lets just say its not the best news. BUT, lets give some updates on this old girl! Theres not much finer than a 359’er! She came into the shop to address some little issues, ended up having a fairly major issue corrected. All in all a productive week on ol 85. Dan put on a new driver side mirror, polished out the window sills and swapped armrests, changed some gauges out for the correct ones, made all the gauge bezels match, added some switch extensions that he had laying around, new dome light and cover, dual revolution “map” lights, installed a parking heater in the bunk, solved a wiring issue with the bunk fan, Jim put new U-Joints in the steering shaft, adjusted the bump stops to give her a bit better turn radius, and Mitch installed a new air compressor! A lot got done in the past 2.5 days, maybe next Monday Dan’s expression won’t be as gloomy as the first Monday he drove it 😂😂

Every driver knows what is going on here… That moment when you WANT to take everything out of your truck, but have to pick and choose what the necessities are since its just a short term rental 😂 Dan is moving on into the 359 AirBNB while Lucas and the guys do a head gasket and take a look at his internal motor health

Here’s why 99 is getting a new motor… The crankshaft broke, and unfortunately it marred the lower end of the block up pretty good. With a long wait on the machine shop to fix our block, it made more sense to just go with a new block and internals that were already in stock. Hoping to have it back this week!

Good news, bad news. Bad news… Thats our truck 99 being drug in behind our sister company and owner Jaime McCurdy Jim Fischbach’s draggin’ wagon… Good news(I guess), its getting a whole new motor! It won’t let me post more than one video at a time, so you have to watch for the second post to find out why its getting a motor…

So it has been a few weeks now pulling freight and trailers around for Halvor Lines, Inc., so figured it was time for a photodump! So far so good, 95 is keeping pretty busy(except for this week, he’s off) 99 is… not… but that is a whole separate post. Here’s to keeping busy and staying happy!
