Planning a trip to Cincinnati? Talk to a SideKick on WhatsApp and let a local show you around.

Our SideKick Katie was out at BLINK in a safety vest and flower crown because she loves this city and wants it to shine. SideKicks volunteer at festivals, take their friends on their own made up Cincy tours, and point visitors to the small businesses that make Cincinnati feel like home. We do it because we can help and we LOVE Cincinnati.

✨ BLINK

If you’ve never experienced BLINK, this is your sign! It’s a MUST-DO Cincinnati experience! There is SO much to see, so our SideKick advice is to go more than once if you can. The opening ceremony starts Thursday at 4 PM, with the festival running 7–11 PM each night. Definitely download the ArtsWave app, check out our guide and check the official BLINK website to help plan your route and see what you don’t want to miss.

🌏 Asianati Night Market

Make a stop at the Asianati Night Market while you’re exploring BLINK! Court Street Plaza will be filled with Asian food, entertainment, games and activities. Live entertainment kicks off at 7 PM each evening, including belly dancing, lion dances, a cosplay contest and Cincinnati Dayton Taiko Drummers. A great way to experience even more of Cincinnati’s food and cultural scene!

🛍️ Fall Cov Craft: Covington’s Curated Makers Market

Looking for something to do during the day before BLINK lights up? Cov Craft is back on the promenade Saturday. This official BLINK daytime activity features 60+ local makers, artists and vintage sellers, plus food from Larry’s All American Cafe, b**r from West Sixth Brewing and live music. Grab a friend, bring your tote bag and spend a few hours shopping local and soaking up some Covington creativity. There are so many great shops and restaurants. Covington is a gem to visit!

🧘‍♀️ Yoga for a Cause

SideKick Katie’s pick! Move with intention while supporting Voices for Parkinson’s, a local nonprofit providing speech therapy for people with neurodegenerative diseases in Greater Cincinnati. Donations are encouraged, and all proceeds benefit their work. Speech and voice difficulties affect a large majority of people with Parkinson’s during the course of the disease, so supporting access to speech therapy can be truly life-changing. Come move, have fun and give back at the same time.

🏰 Ohio Renaissance Festival
SideKicks Lauren and Lydia’s pick! Lauren has already been 4 times this year, so she clearly has some things to say about it. Lauren says Renaissance Festival is a kind, whimsical, playful and completely immersive space. Think Disney, but more affordable and medieval. You’ll find unique vendors, unexpected experiences, tons to explore and, of course, plenty of people yelling “HUZZAH!” Pro tip: Check out the Cincinnati Barbarians fighting at 12:30 and 4 PM, with a meet & greet at 2:30!

📚 Cincy Bookstore Crawl
SideKick Anna’s pick! Calling all book lovers! With 26 participating independent bookstores, the Cincy Bookstore Crawl is the perfect excuse to explore local shops, discover new favorites and make a weekend out of it. Grab your official passport at your first stop and collect stamps along the way for chances to win prizes. Pro tip: Check out SideKick Anna’s Cincy Coffee☕️ guide for where to stop for coffee along the way!

⚾ Fall Fest at Prasco Park
SideKick Sarah’s pick! Tickets are FREE. Head to Prasco Park Sunday for fall baseball as the University of Kentucky takes on the University of Cincinnati, plus pumpkins, hayrides and plenty of family-friendly fall activities.

🎨 Hyde Park Square Art Show
SideKick Eric’s pick! Celebrating its 60th year, this free one-day outdoor art show transforms Hyde Park Square into an open-air gallery featuring more than 200 artists and sculptors from across the country. Browse everything from paintings and photography to ceramics, jewelry, glass and sculpture while enjoying live jazz, food and family activities. Bonus: proceeds from artist application fees support local public school art programs. Check out Awakenings Coffee Roasters (SideKick Katie’s pick) or Dovetale Bakery (SideKick Becca’s pick).

Meet Lydia, your SideKick for Cincinnati.

Lydia was born and raised in Cincinnati, and she loves this city and sharing it with anyone who visits.

Live music is where she shines. With a background in sound engineering, Lydia has worked behind the scenes at venues all over town, so she knows the details most people never hear about. She can tell you where to park, where to eat before the show, and which small venues just outside the city are worth the drive. Coming in for a concert? She’ll help you plan the whole night.

Lydia’s favorite thing to do is eat, especially at small, quirky, one-of-a-kind spots that most visitors would never find on their own. Today she’s an esthetician who owns her own studio, and she’s always swapping recommendations with her clients, so her list of hidden gems keeps growing.

She’s also a regular at the Cincinnati Zoo. Lydia goes almost every week, knows the baby animals by name, and has plenty of fun facts to share. When BLINK lights up the city, she’s the friend leading her own crew from installation to installation. And when you’re ready to get outside, she knows the best spots for hiking and camping too.

Whether you’re looking for a great show, a meal worth talking about, a zoo day, or a weekend outdoors, Lydia will point you in the right direction.

Coming to Cincinnati and want to experience the city like a local? Lydia’s your SideKick.

Cincinnati is more than just BLINK. Explore the city before the festival even begins.

Comment BLINK and a Cincinnati local will help you plan your whole trip, not just the lights.

Where should you go to grab a great coffee? Which neighborhoods are worth exploring based on your interests? Where’s the hole in the wall restaurant locals love? That’s everything Google skims right over and you have to spend hours researching.

The earlier you sign up, the more time you and your SideKick have to actually plan it all out before you arrive.

Comment BLINK and let’s start now.
