ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
• Must have your own book of business
• Secure Capacity for Load
• Leverage knowledge and understanding of Modes, Rates, Weights, Volumes, Pallets, etc. based on Customer's shipping requirements
• Contact carrier to obtain status of load tendered; continue monitoring the shipment for on-time pick-up, transit, delivered, empty
• Update load status in system, e.g. loaded, pick-up, delivery, empty, etc.
• Notify Shipper and/or Receiver of Load Status and reschedule pick-up/delivery appointments when necessary
• Set-up New Locations (Shippers/Receivers); and/or Set-up new vendors (Upload vendor profile sheet, assign vendor code, contact vendor to determine shipping dates, hours or operations, etc.)
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers
• Leverage carrier relationship to influence capacity awards during tight markets
• Correspond with customer and carrier regarding detention information
• Issue EFS checks within established guidelines
• Maintain current customer rates in the Transportation Management System
• Manage accounts receivables within specified guidelines
• Addressing carrier/customer inquiring as received.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
• Working Knowledge and Utilization of the appropriate transportation management system
• Knowledge of Microsoft Tools (Ability to leverage Excel and other MS programs, including Word, Excel etc.)
• Knowledge of the Customer's Business (Knowledge and understanding of the customer product, ability to flowchart the customer's basic supply chain, speak the customer's language and understand the customer's key service measures, etc.)
• Industry Expertise (Transportation industry knowledge, including key terminology; and, general knowledge of primary customer industries)
• Interstate X Expertise (Understand and know the Mission, Values and Goals, organizational structure, company history, how we function internally, administration, best practices, processes, behavior, the complete Interstate X order-to-cash, etc.)
• Geographical Expertise (Geographical understanding of the continental US.
• Understanding of mileage as it relates to the passage of time, including DOT & Speed governance, including Transit time difference based on mode)

Pay is based on experience and your own book of business.
