Advocacy works! (mostly) It hasn’t gone to a final vote but the Prospect St redesign plan has come a really long way thanks to the effort of a lot of advocates. Is it perfect? No. But will there be …

* 1.1 continuous miles of bike lanes from Parker through just south of Springfield
* leading pedestrian intervals(!)
* bike boxes
* new stop signs
* speed bumps

Looks like it! 🎉 Celebrate the progress, it’s hard earned.

We have something special not because of happenstance, but because we made it so. Every Friday ride is an active choice by the families of SOMa to create the world we want for our kids.

It’s wonderful and _reproducible_. I’ve been so happy seeing all the new bike bus communities pop up around NJ and across the country. 💚

If we want safe streets, then the Maplewood town committee needs to change. I’ve never volunteered for any political campaign before or “done politics” in this way, but I’ve come to appreciate that it’s the only path forward.

I want to raise independent kids who can get outside and explore their neighborhood. I want people first streets. Current leadership continues to fall short on this vision. I’ll be single shot voting 3 for Ceperley for town committee because I think he’s the change Maplewood needs.
