Pets Under Police Security Pets Under Police Security is located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. PLEASE do not transport a stray pet out of the city it was found in.

Pets Under Police Security (PUPS) is the animal holding facility for Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, New Hope, Plymouth and Robbinsdale. All animals must be brought in to our facility by an officer, we are unable to take in any pets directly from the public. If you have found a stray pet, please contact the local Police Department of the city the pet was found in to have it picked up.

An owner will be best able to find their pet if it is being held at the impound facility for the city it was lost in. The owner may not even think to check with other organizations (like Animal Humane Society) and may not be reunited with their pet if it isn't at the correct facility. If your pet goes missing, it is best to call PUPS to report it right away. If your pet is in our care - proof of ownership, current Rabies vaccine info and impound fees will be collected when picking up from PUPS. All stray pets are held for five business days. Unclaimed pets will then be made available for transfer to an approved rescue organization. PUPS is not set up to do adoptions, but if you are interested in adopting a pet at our facility you can fill out this quick application, and we’ll send it to all of our rescue partners. You will need to go through their approval process for fostering/adopting a pet. We cannot guarantee availability of adopting an unclaimed pet at our facility - they are available to the approved rescues on a first come basis.

We received a call that a black cat wearing a harness has been found, and we believe it was potentially micro chipped at our vaccine clinic.
Sadly, the microchip was not registered so we are hoping to reach the owner through social media.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Reminder 🇺🇸

PUPS will be open during our normal hours today. However, the facility will be closed to the public Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

Staff will still be on site throughout the weekend caring for the pets at the facility, and officers will continue to have access to bring animals in as needed.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend while taking time to remember and honor those who served. ❤️
