Absolute beauty of a day - plus, we saw a record five leatherback turtles near Rodanthe! We reached out to a few biologist friends and they said there have been reports of some down near Topsail around the piers. AND - exciting news, we have a leatherback turtle nest on Ocracoke as of yesterday!!! Feeling so grateful.

Whoa - holy schools of drum! AND - sharks (including two hammerheads, our first three turtles of the year and hundreds of dolphins)! What a stellar day. Couldn’t get many shots as Larry was hightailing it up to Manteo for flights, but caught a few of the very large schools of drum we saw today. Looking forward to doing it again tomorrow!
