It was a FULL day of exploring what great things Kodiak has to share on our second day of being on the island!

It warm temps and deep blue sky helped. As well as, the sun hanging high in the sky for such a LONG time.

B**g, Jane, Jim and I felt as though we covered a whole lotta ground this second day of being here.

We visited “The Last Small Farm”, Ft. Abercrombie, the Kodiak History Museum, looked at the boats in the harbor, found sea planes, and took a drive to White Sands Beach.

Our first day on Kodiak Island began with a pretty early start. And a pretty amazing adventure!

Kodiak is 3 hours behind Eastern Nebraska. 5:00 am in Kodiak is 8:00 am at home.

We stepped into our waterproof waders before jumping in the side by sides with Ralph and Wade (Kodiak River Runners). (Great guys, by the way!!)

It was 18 miles to the Saltery Cove via the Saltery Cove Road. This particular road was originally constructed by Seabees during World War II as a military access route but was abandoned and left unmaintained shortly after the war ended.
