Youth Transportation Deadline

Youth Transportation requests are due by the end of the day on Friday, August 21st.

Requests received after August 21st will be handled on a daily call-in basis and will be provided based on availability.

Please submit your transportation request by the deadline to help ensure your transportation needs can be accommodated.

Space is limited. Transportation is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and submitting a request does not guarantee that space will be available.

Schoolcraft County Transit Authority Thanks Superior Health Foundation for Grant Supporting Portable Accessibility Ramps
Manistique, MI

The Schoolcraft County Transit Authority is pleased to announce it has received a generous grant from the Superior Health Foundation to purchase portable accessibility ramps that will improve transportation access for individuals with mobility challenges throughout Schoolcraft County.
The new portable ramps will provide greater flexibility in serving passengers by helping ensure safe and accessible boarding and exiting in locations where permanent accessibility features may not be available. This investment supports the Transit Authority's ongoing commitment to providing reliable, inclusive transportation services for residents of all ages and abilities.
"We are incredibly grateful to the Superior Health Foundation for recognizing the importance of accessible transportation in our community," said Tricia Noble, Operations Manager. "This grant will help us better serve passengers with mobility needs and ensure that more residents can safely access essential services, medical appointments, employment, shopping, and community activities."
The portable ramps will expand the Transit Authority's ability to accommodate passengers in a variety of settings, enhancing independence and improving quality of life for those who rely on public transportation.
The Schoolcraft County Transit Authority extends its sincere appreciation to the Superior Health Foundation for its continued investment in initiatives that strengthen the health, accessibility, and well-being of communities across Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

We are so proud to wrap up our first year of Safe Rides in Schoolcraft County! Folk Fest did not disappoint and Transit provided 137 FREE RIDES on Friday and Saturday evening. These free rides were sponsored by local businesses to ensure safety for our entire community! A grand total of 392 rides were provided FREE of charge this year thanks to our wonderful sponsors! Thanks to generous donations from Family Pride Laundry, Peninsula Federal Credit Union and Watson's Marina, we are able to once again offer FREE RIDES for the evening service during Manistique Folk Fest 2026. These rides will be available Friday: 8pm-2:30am and Saturday: 6pm-2:30am. Please remember that all rides must be completed by 2:30am! Thank You, Sponsors!!!!!!
