Our second community meeting turned talk into action. 🤝

We’re building the resource list the State asked for—and local companies and community members are stepping up with offers of professional support, potential equipment donations and sawyer training.

Here’s what we need:
🚜 Mini excavators approximately 5 feet wide or less
👷 Qualified operators, sawyers and arborists
🪚 Professional crews and training resources
💚 Funding to put these resources to work

All forest work must be authorized by the State. Right now, we’re organizing the people, equipment and support to be ready.

Have equipment, skills or a company that can help? DM us with what you can offer. Donate if you can, and share this reel to help us reach more people.

We’ve been talking with the State, and now it’s time to get organized and show what this community can bring to the recovery effort.

We’re looking for contractors, arborists, certified chainsaw operators, heavy equipment & operators, professional services, funding—and people who simply want to help.

This is for the hikers, runners, equestrians, families, mountain bikers and everyone who loves Makawao Forest.

🚲 SHOP HOURS UPDATE
Our MAKAWAO location will temporarily be CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. With the forest closed and business slowing down, we need to adjust for now. Mahalo for supporting our mountain shop through this tough stretch. ❤️

Our AIRPORT / KAHULUI and WEST MAUI / LAHAINA locations remain OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, regular hours. Only Makawao’s Sunday hours are changing.

🌲 FOREST UPDATE
The state has contractors working up there, but it’s going to be a long haul. There are still lots of trees and debris down, and budgets and resources are limited. The forest remains CLOSED, and the state is asking everyone to stay out. Please respect the closure and give crews room to work.

We’re working toward arranging a volunteer day. First, we’ll hold another Save Makawao Forest group meeting to figure out what skills, equipment and resources we can offer the state to help move things forward.

This forest means so much to so many of us. Let’s keep working together to get our precious resource open again. 💚

Still plenty of great riding on Maui, and West Maui is bringing the fun! 🤙🚵‍♂️ Laps at West Maui Bike Park and the old Xterra trails in Kapalua had us smiling the whole ride!

Big mahalo to Maui Mountain Bike Coalition MMBC! They’ll have an excavator Bobcat of Maui up there for the next month digging out some fun stuff and getting things ready for the Aloha Gravel , put on by MAUI SUNRIDERS BIKE SHOP and Lauf Gravel Worlds® . Stoked for what’s coming and grateful for everyone putting in the work! 🙌

The announcer thought I rode the whole RBC GranFondo Whistler on a downhill bike 😂 Full face, triple crown, full squish… “Great choice!” My face says it all 🤣

What an incredible event—over 7,000 riders and sold out! Let’s bring that energy to Maui for our own Gran Fondo, Pedal Imua ! 🤙🌺
