I know it may feel early to talk about Christmas, but when a family vacation is the gift, planning ahead gives you more time to choose the experience that truly fits your family.

⭐️ Maybe your family would love the ease of a Disney Cruise, where meals, entertainment, and activities are already taken care of.

⭐️ Maybe your little ones would light up at the thought of characters, fireworks, and rides at Walt Disney World or Disneyland.

⭐️ Maybe what your family needs most is sunshine, slower mornings, pool time, and space to simply be together at Aulani.

⭐️ Or maybe Universal Orlando is the one place that would make everyone excited, from Harry Potter fans to thrill-ride lovers.

A vacation is not just a trip. It can be a chance to step away from busy schedules, stop worrying about what is for dinner, and make memories together that last much longer than another toy under the tree. It’s time to CELEBRATE🎉🎉🎉 1️⃣3️⃣ years ago, I started a journey with Wish Upon a Star with us as a Family Travel Planner that has brought me the biggest rewards that I could’ve ever imagined.

Choosing a cruise vacation can feel very overwhelming, especially when every friend, Facebook group, and social media post has a different opinion on which cruise line is best.

That is why, before I recommend anything, I like to get to know your family and what this vacation needs to look like for you and your family.

When I chat with families I ask things like:

✅ What do your kids get excited about right now?

✅ Do you picture slow mornings, or a full day of activities?

✅ Will everyone be happy sharing one space, or do we need a stateroom setup that gives you room to breathe?

✅ What matters most for this trip: Disney magic, big ship adventure, the itinerary, or making the budget go further?

Why I ask? Because those answers tell me so much more than a list of cruise lines ever could.

✅ A family with little ones who still need downtime, would light up at character hugs and very family oriented activities, may be happiest on Disney Cruise Line.

✅ A family with older kids who want surf simulators, slides, rock climbing and nonstop activity may be a much better fit for Royal Caribbean.

✅ And for a family looking for a lot of fun, Carnival may be exactly right.

I recently had a client who was so close to leaving for their family vacation when an unexpected medical situation happened to one of the family members. Their doctor advised her not to travel.

Thankfully, they had travel protection. Because their situation met the terms of their plan, they were able to submit a claim for their covered, nonrefundable trip costs.

In an already stressful moment, that was one less thing for them to worry about. This is why I encourage families to consider travel protection when planning a vacation.

Your trip is an investment. You spend time, money, and so much excitement planning those special memories. Protecting that investment matters.

Here are a few reasons travel protection can be so important:

✅ Unexpected illness or injury can happen before or during your trip.

✅ Flight delays and cancellations can disrupt your plans and create unexpected expenses.

✅ Medical care or emergency evacuation while traveling, especially outside the country, can be very expensive.

✅ Lost or delayed luggage can mean purchasing necessities while you wait for your belongings.

✅ Credit card coverage may not be enough. Some cards offer limited benefits, but they may not cover everything your family needs.

We never purchase travel protection expecting something to go wrong. We purchase it so that if life changes unexpectedly, we have options. Every plan is different, so be sure to review the coverage, limits, and exclusions before purchasing.
