♻️ Giving Furniture a Second Life, One Move at a Time! 💚

At Ridgewood Moving Services , we believe unwanted furniture deserves a second chance, not a trip to the landfill!

That's why we love seeing partnerships like this one! Our friends at CleanSlate Clean Outs help give household goods and furniture a new purpose through resale, donation, and recycling.

Pictured here is Iris and her team from CleanSlate Clean Outs, working alongside Paterson Task Force (PTF) for Community Action Incorporated to collect furniture from one of our customers and help families transitioning out of shelters, group homes, and other challenging situations.

🏡 What may no longer be needed in one home can make a world of difference in another.

Together, we're reducing waste, supporting our community, and making a difference, one move at a time!

This October, Ridgewood Moving Services is proud to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month and stand with survivors throughout Bergen County. 💜

Domestic violence is not always physical. It can include emotional abuse, intimidation, controlling behavior, financial abuse, stalking, sexual violence, and isolation.

💜 A few important things to know:
• Abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background.
• Warning signs may include controlling behavior, isolation, intimidation, threats, or financial control.
• Education, awareness, and knowing where to find support can make a meaningful difference.

We’re honored to support the Center for Hope & Safety and their work supporting victims and survivors throughout Bergen County. Join us at this year’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month events:

Monday Moving Tip: Make Your Move a Little More Eco-Friendly 🌎🚚

Packing yourself? Before buying more cardboard boxes, take a look around your home. You may already have plenty of things that can help you pack:

♻️ Keep clothes on the hangers and slip a large garbage bag around them for an easy DIY garment bag.
🧳 Fill your luggage with folded clothing, shoes, linens, and other belongings instead of packing empty suitcases.
📦 Use bins, baskets, hampers, and storage containers you already own before reaching for another box.
🛏️ Use towels, blankets, and linens as extra padding for items that need protection.
📚 Reuse boxes whenever possible instead of automatically buying new ones.

At Ridgewood Moving Services, we also proudly offer a Complimentary Recycled Box Program, providing gently used boxes at no cost to our customers. After your move, we’ll even pick them up so they can be reused again.

We also recycle brown paper and unprinted newsprint, use eco crates for pictures and mirrors, and offer reusable plastic moving crates for rent as a greener alternative to cardboard, whether you’re packing yourself or working with our team.

A smoother move with a little less waste. ❤️🌎
