🪪 FREE to enter, but ID required for anyone enjoying the Biergarten (children welcome, but adults must be over 21)

🍺 Grab a glass of your favorite drink (local beer, cider, even a GF beer!), order some snacks, and find a picnic table next to Lake Monona with Capitol Views!

🐾 Leashed dogs are welcome

🌭 Outside food can be enjoyed at the picnic tables

📍Madeline Island, La Pointe, WI

⛴️ Take the from Bayfield to La Pointe (your car can come too!) and spend a few days on the largest of the Apostle Islands.

🛏️ I stayed at the Inn on Madeline Island in the Lightkeeper’s Lodge and had a beautiful room with a large balcony overlooking Lake Superior 🤩

Here are some must-dos as your are planning your trip:

📍Observation Deck of the Wisconsin State Capitol (6th Floor)

🎟️ FREE

🕐 Open seasonally mid-April through December
- Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm
- Saturday: 9am-3:30pm
- Sunday: 12pm-3:30pm

🤯 The observation deck & museum is on the 6th floor of the Capitol building, located 92ft above the ground - views are amazing!

👉🏼 Take the elevators in the West or Notth hallways to the 4th floor and then follow the signs up several flights of stairs to the viewing deck

‼️ Stairs are required to access the viewing deck and museum (~48 steps)

🤩 You can see the entire city from the Lake Monona and Lake Mendota to the Monona Terrace and the top of Bascom Hill

It’s a great way to see Madison whether you’re a local like me or visiting the area for the first time!

Did you know WI State Parks offer FREE Candlelight Hikes all year long? 🥾

🤩 I just attended my first event at Kohler-Andrae State Park and it was so much fun! There was a campfire, live music, and even donated snacks available.

🌳 The hikes are self-guided and take place at various parks and recreation areas throughout the year.

🚗 Arrive early to find parking and avoid a wait at the entrance. These events are popular (and so much fun!).

📆 Add these upcoming hikes to your calendar:

- July 25, 8:30pm-10:30pm at Kohler-Andrae State Park
- September 19, 6pm-9pm at Harrington Beach State Park
- October 3, 6:30pm-8:30pm at Kohler-Andrae State Park

❄️ And keep an eye out as more events are added! There are frequent Candlelight Hike and Snowshoe events in the winter months to help get you outside year-round.

📍Door County, Wisconsin

🌷 Most people head to Door County during the summer and fall seasons, but May prior to Memorial Day is my favorite time to visit. Most businesses are open, weather is pleasant, and green is popping up all around you. But the best part?! Wayyy fewer crowds and lower prices all around!

🔥 Fish Boil at White Gull Inn (boils at The Old Post Office begin mid-May)
