Part-time Event Host

Historic Terminal Station in downtown Macon, Georgia seeks a dependable, professional to oversee weddings, receptions, fundraisers and private events.

Primary duties, include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting event organizers
• Monitoring facility operations
• Enforcing venue policies

Secondary duties include:
• Maintaining common areas with light housekeeping duties

REQUIRED: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, reliability, and willingness to perform a variety of tasks as needed. This position is evenings and weekends. Previous hospitality or event experience preferred.

PAY: Based on experience

Over the weekend during the storm a tree fell in the Spirit of Macon Park and extended onto the sidewalk. Early this morning Parks & Beautification was on site cutting up and removing the dead tree.

The transit authority is grateful to Parks & Beautification and today, particularly to Terry, Jamie & Cleveland. Great job guys for keeping our park and our corner looking neat and clean.

This is a busy & important downtown corner which includes:

- Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority bus hub
- Poplar Street Tunnel
- Downtown Bus Station Book Locker
- Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce

CHAIR YOGA at the SPIRIT of MACON PARK on Thursday, October 8

Thank you Miss Linda, Recreation Director Robert Walker and the Recreation Department staff for our October CHAIR YOGA class in the SPIRIT of MACON PARK.

That's the great thing about CHAIR YOGA - it doesn't matter your age or fitness level. It's a terrific way to stay active and Miss Linda is a knowledgeable and encouraging instructor.

The sky was cloudy but the weather was perfect - high 70s with a gentle breeze blowing during the entire class.

Excellent fitness class, and as always there's no charge for wellness classes in the SPIRIT of MACON PARK.

The Macon Pilot Club invited Jami, MBCTA's PIO, to speak to their club on transit and the transit authority. Decked out for Halloween and preparing to make a donation to Bruce Elementary School, it was enjoyable to see this energetic group in action! The delicious lunch was catered by Mr. Charles Murphy.

We had a great TAI CHI class in the Spirit of Macon Park on Monday. The dismal day & potential rain may have reduced our numbers, but weatherwise, it was a great day for class!
