https://lnkd.in/p/gtnF5Ne2 --- The AV race is ON.
And it’s getting much more interesting.
Waymo is expanding aggressively across the US.
Tesla is bringing its purpose-built Cybercab into the equation.
And Zoox is quietly building out its own footprint with a vehicle designed from day one to have no driver at all.
Three companies. Three very different approaches.
Waymo: prove autonomy works, then scale it city by city.
Tesla: leverage massive vehicle manufacturing capacity and solve autonomy at scale.
Zoox: rethink the vehicle itself and build a purpose-built autonomous mobility service from the ground up.
For years, the autonomous vehicle industry was full of pilots, promises and “five years from now.”
That period increasingly feels like it’s ending.
Now we’re seeing real vehicles, real passengers, real cities — and increasingly, the same companies competing in the same markets.
As someone working in autonomous mobility, this is exactly the kind of competition I want to see.
Because ultimately, this isn’t just Waymo vs. Tesla vs. Zoox.
