Northern Colorado Regional Airport - FNL

Northern Colorado Regional Airport - FNL The Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL) is a Part 139 certified commercial airport located along the Interstate 25 corridor in Northern Colorado

Equally owned by Fort Collins and Loveland but operated under Loveland, we're located just north of Denver, our area is known for its thriving craft beer industry, eclectic arts and entertainment scene and mix of outdoor recreational activities. With 300 days of sunshine, snow-capped mountains, idyllic lakes and clear-running rivers, it’s captivating year-round. Northern Colorado Regional Airport

(FNL) is the nearest airport to Estes Park, base camp to the nationally acclaimed and breathtaking Rocky Mountain National Park which is home to wildlife including elk and bears, and miles of trails. Fort Collins is also home to Colorado State University, one of the nation’s top universities and Loveland is known as the nation’s Sweetheart City with the largest love lock sculpture of its kind in the U.S. Both have award-winning historic downtown areas within 20 minutes of the airport, offering live music, delectable restaurants and a variety of tourist, retail, novelty and confectionary shops. Drive times from our Airport to ski resorts like Vail, Copper Mountain, Winter Park, and Eldora Mountain are similar if not faster than what you would experience from Denver International Airport. Our mission is to provide a safe and efficient air transportation facility for use by the aviation community and general public; to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety standards; and to implement a plan for airport development that will continue to meet the need of our communities.

Today we had the honor of sending off another incredible High Plains Honor Flight mission from Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL). 🇺🇸

There’s nothing quite like watching our veterans depart on a journey to visit the memorials built in their honor—it’s a powerful reminder of the service and sacrifice that make moments like this possible.

A big thank you to Allegiant for serving as the charter airline and helping make this experience seamless and special for our veterans, and to High Plains Honor Flight for the care and dedication that goes into organizing each trip.

We also appreciate Denver7 for being on site to help share these meaningful stories with our community.

Safe travels to all on board—we can’t wait to welcome you home. ✈️💙

Join us in honoring those who served 🇺🇸

On Sunday, April 19, Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL) is proud to partner with High Plains Honor Flight to send off local veterans on a trip to Washington, D.C.—a journey recognizing their service and sacrifice.

The day begins with a ceremony at The Ranch Events Complex, followed by an “Escort of Heroes” to FNL. 🎉Community members are encouraged to line the route, wave flags, and show support as these veterans begin their trip.

This is more than a departure—it’s a chance for Northern Colorado to come together and say thank you.

Big news for the future of FNL ✈️
We’re committed to building the infrastructure FNL needs—safely, thoughtfully, and with long-term growth in mind.

The Northern Colorado Regional Airport has left the FAA's remote tower project, believing a traditional tower will get it commercial service faster. See link below ⬇️

🚨 High Winds at FNL 🚨

Strong winds have already started at FNL. All tenants are asked to please secure any loose items around your hangar or ramp area as soon as possible. Thank you for taking a few minutes to help keep the airport safe. ✈️

High Wind Warnings are in effect for the Front Range Mountains, Foothills, and northern northern plains near the Wyoming border today. Peak wind gusts of 80-100 mph are expected in wind prone areas of the mountains and foothills, potentially 65-80 mph from the west side of Fort Collins to north of Wellington, and 55-65 mph gusts likely over the northern plains. High profile vehicles will be especially vulnerable to the high winds, so if driving one consider delaying travel until winds subside on the plains tonight and in the mountains and foothills by Friday afternoon.
