🦋 October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

NDEAM is a time to recognize the contributions, skills, and opportunities of people with disabilities in the workforce—and to encourage more accessible and inclusive workplaces.

Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 WHAT IS NDEAM?
National Disability Employment Awareness Month is observed every October to recognize the contributions of people with disabilities in the workforce and highlight the importance of inclusive employment practices. It’s also an opportunity to promote accessibility and encourage workplaces where people with disabilities have equal opportunities to contribute, grow, and succeed.

🔹 NDEAM FOCUS AREAS
Disability inclusion in the workplace can take many forms. Some key areas organizations can focus on include:
• Inclusive hiring practices
• Workplace accessibility
• Disability awareness training
• Employee resource groups
• Career development opportunities
• Inclusive workplace policies
• Accessible technology and tools
• Disability representation in leadership

🔹 DID YOU KNOW?
NDEAM began in 1945 as a week-long observance and was expanded to a full month in 1988. Today, October serves as an opportunity to recognize the contributions of workers with disabilities and continue conversations around accessibility, inclusion, and opportunity.

NDEAM also has an official theme each year. For 2026, the theme is “Advancing Access and Equity in the Workplace.”

An invitation means little if you can’t get through the door. 🦋

Accessible transportation helps people get there, but true accessibility doesn’t stop at the curb.

When Butterfli Brand Ambassador Paul Amadeus Lane was invited to an event, we discovered the venue needed a temporary ramp for him to safely enter. After several dead ends, Next Day Access stepped in. They came to the property, assessed the space, helped us find the right solution, and installed a temporary ramp so Paul could fully participate.

Because accessibility isn’t just about getting someone to a destination. It’s about making sure they can enter, participate, and belong.

As Paul shared, there’s a difference between being invited somewhere and actually being able to accept that invitation.

We’re grateful to Next Day Access for helping us turn an invitation into an experience Paul could truly be part of. 💙

Strong teams are built through open communication, shared ideas, and a clear vision. 🦋

Butterfli recently brought together our executives and partners for an evening of open conversation, thoughtful planning, collaboration, and new ideas, all centered around one goal: providing the highest quality of service and care to the communities we serve.

Guided by our Co-Founder, John Harris, and CEO, Delilah Lanoix, our leadership team came together to align on our projects, strengthen our partnerships, and continue building toward a shared vision for the future of Butterfli.

When we see eye to eye on our mission, we can move forward together with greater purpose: providing accessible transportation with the highest quality of care, service, and compassion possible.

Join us online for Butterfli’s chill SoCal Transit Month Virtual Open House. Let’s chat all things transit!

Join Butterfli for a Special Community Conversation! 🎉
In celebration of SoCal Transit Month, Butterfli is bringing the community together for a fun, interactive virtual event focused on accessible transportation, mobility, and connection.

Hosted by Paul Amadeus Lane , Butterfli Disability Ambassador, the evening will kick off with a special fireside chat featuring Eli Lipmen, Executive Director of Move LA. Together, Paul and Eli will introduce Move LA and SoCal Transit Month, share why accessible and equitable transportation matters, and discuss the importance of connecting communities to the mobility options they need.

Then, get to know Butterfli! We’ll introduce our team, highlight our accessible transportation services, show you how easy it is to book a ride, and introduce Mari, our virtual assistant.

And, of course, we’ll wrap up the evening with a virtual Spin-the-Wheel and prizes! 🎉
