Three steps forward. Four steps back.

Butterfli was proud to stand alongside the Boo Boo Bandage Brigade and members of the disability community at Los Angeles City Hall for the Willits Slide. A powerful performance highlighting the barriers people with disabilities continue to face when navigating our sidewalks and public spaces.

While the City of Los Angeles has made progress since the Willits v. City of Los Angeles case, change has not happened clearly or quickly enough. Inaccessible sidewalks create barriers to safety, independence, and everyday life.

With voices like Deaka McClain, Candace Cable, Hilary Norton, serve robotics, and the entire Boo Boo Bandage Brigade community, we stood together to call for meaningful action and continued progress and to say that accessibility cannot wait.

We loved reconnecting with so many of you we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years, and finally meeting in person with those we’ve previously connected with by phone. We were especially grateful for the opportunity to meet members of the SCLARC staff who work closely with consumers and families to develop meaningful plans and support services.
