Ok ya'll! Another THANK YOU for waiting patiently for your Tony Hawk π x dune collaboration decks. ππ½ Again, they are shipping today and tomorrow! Another special thank you to Tony.
He's a huge inspiration of mine. And has been since I first watched 's "The Bones Brigade Video Show" in 1984. I think I sat at the πΊ and watched that VHS tape 10 times in a row.
Once I found skateboarding, I quit my role as a freshman star of our JV soccer team. I got injured skating a couple times and my coach was not stoked. I was told I was blowing my future, was a shoe in for a scholarship to college, but needed to pick between β½οΈ and πΉ.
It was people like Mark Gonzales, , , my God Bro Rodney , & OF COURSE that inspired me and opened my eyes to the endless creative possibilities on a skateboard. Unlike organized sports, it encompassed not only skateboarding, but also art, music, fashion, and personality.
I was locked in, skating everyday and made what for me, was an easy call...I CHOSE SKATEBOARDING. βοΈ
Check the SECOND and third slides of this post. I'm riding one of the earliest decks, a "Shark" handcut by . If you look closely, there is a Tony Hawk sticker on my board. This photo was 1986ish!? I'm a lifelong T. Hawk fan.
I knew him in passing for years, and finally got to know him a bit more personally on our travels with Vans Park Series. I can honestly say I think there is no one in skateboarding who has done more to further it, while also remaining humble, real and down to earth. He also gives himself freely with his ramp, his foundation and helping out those in need. So support all his endeavors knowing we're in good hands with him as our primary ambassador! Plus, he still skates NON STOP. A true skate rat at heart. β€οΈ
As I mentioned, all of the signed Hawk x dune collaboration decks along with the unsigned decks, are getting shipped off today and tomorrow. Our shaped decks are a week out. I'm humbled by all this. THANK YOU all. ππ½
