Sunset Malibu ride with our Renaissance crew.

We had an awesome evening out on our Skycrest Malibu Ride with members of Renaissance Club LA a private membership club built around experiences, community, and getting people together for memorable outings around Los Angeles.

This is exactly why we love partnering with membership communities like Renaissance.

Skycrest is one of those rides that gives you a little bit of everything: wide-open mountain scenery, incredible sunset light, sweeping views toward the coast, premium full-suspension eMTBs, and a route that lets riders enjoy the adventure without needing to be hardcore mountain bikers.

TEXAS LIFERUSH CREW — BACK FOR MORE. 🤘💀🔥

These guys booked our Epic Mount Wilson Adventure… but we weren’t about to give them an ordinary day.

Instead of burning half the ride climbing just to earn one descent, we loaded the crew up and gave them a complimentary shuttle all the way to the top of Mount Wilson — turning the day into something much bigger.

We kicked things off with an extra high-alpine ride above the clouds, carving through rugged mountain terrain near Chilao before even beginning the adventure they originally booked.

Then it was time to drop.

THE DARK SIDE.

Steep. Raw. Technical. High exposure. Rock lines, loose terrain, narrow sections and consequences everywhere. This crew came ready to push themselves, and nobody was looking for the easy line.

There were definitely a few moments where riders — and even the guides — got reminded just how serious this mountain can be. But that’s exactly why we run these missions as a team.

Our comms system kept the entire crew connected, our second guide — also a pro bike mechanic — handled an on-trail mechanical, and we kept everyone fueled with ice-cold water, fresh oranges and high-energy carbohydrate gummies.

The energy stayed HIGH.
The stoke stayed HIGHER. 🔥

And when we finally hit the bottom?

Nobody wanted the adventure to end.

Straight into the mountain springwater pools — cannonballs, jumps, natural rock slides and a full crew cooldown in some seriously refreshing water.

What started as an Epic Mount Wilson ride turned into an all-day LifeRush mission in maximum overdrive.

Five or six rides ago, these guys were taking on a completely different level of terrain. Now every time the Texas crew comes back, we find something new, something harder and something that pushes the limits just a little farther.

They’re not just returning riders anymore.

They’re friends. They’re part of the LifeRush crew.

And every trip back to California means one thing:

Malibu views, mountain ridgelines, premium eMTBs and one seriously fun Renaissance crew. 🌊🚵‍♂️

What an awesome day riding our Skycrest Malibu eMountain Bike Adventure with 3 Renaissance riders, alongside my co-guide Erik.

This experience is all about getting people out into the mountains without needing to be an expert mountain biker. We climb high above Malibu on premium full-suspension eMTBs, cruise wide-open ridgelines, stop at incredible Pacific Ocean viewpoints, and give riders plenty of time to get comfortable with the bikes while still feeling like they’re on a real adventure.

The eMTBs take the punishment out of the climbs, so you can spend more time enjoying the scenery, learning the bike, and taking in some of the best coastal views Southern California has to offer.

This crew absolutely crushed it. Great energy, lots of laughs, beautiful weather and another unforgettable day in the mountains.

🔥 RUN 2 OF 3 — THE DARK SIDE OF MOUNT WILSON 🔥

This is what a true shuttle day is all about.

Dustin and Bear came ready to ride DH, and for Run #2 our entire LifeRush crew was positioned around the mountain to keep the laps moving and capture the experience.

🛻 Eric handled the Raptor shuttle, bikes and logistics while 🎥 Emma rode ahead and positioned herself farther down the trail to capture Dustin and Bear coming through the drops, technical sections and exposed lines.

Then we dropped into the Dark Side.

This side of Mount Wilson feels completely different — deep shaded forest, waterfalls, stream crossings, loose technical terrain, fast flow and long exposed sidehill sections where there is very little room for error.

At times it almost feels like riding Santa Cruz: cool tree cover, lush canyon terrain and water running below you — except you’re still high in the San Gabriels with serious exposure right off the trail.

And there’s history everywhere in this canyon.

Big Santa Anita Canyon is home to Adams Pack Station, the last remaining pack station in Southern California. For generations, donkeys and mules carried supplies — and even mail — into the remote cabins and camps that could only be reached by trail. The Chantry Flat area was then closed for four years following the 2020 Bobcat Fire and major storm damage before finally reopening in 2024. (Adams Pack Station)

🔥 RUN 1 OF 3 — MOUNT WILSON FRONT SIDE 🔥

Dustin and Bear came straight down from a week at Mammoth Bike Park ready for a completely different kind of mountain.

Our first shuttle dropped us into the Front Side of Mount Wilson just after sunrise — and it got technical fast.

Steep rock chutes. Loose terrain. Tight lines. High exposure. Big features. Sections where line choice and commitment matter.

The Front Side has that raw Mount Wilson feel — fast in places, technical in others, with exposed traverses and rugged downhill sections that keep you focused from top to bottom.

We worked through the chutes, hit Monkey Face, then continued dropping through changing terrain before finishing with the lower sections and river crossing.

One rider took a spill in one of the technical chutes, but his airbag chest protector deployed exactly as designed. We checked him over, regrouped, and kept moving.

This was only Run 1 of 3.

Mount Wilson Downhill Shuttle Experience

MITCHELL CAME ALL THE WAY FROM AUSTRALIA… AND WENT BIG. 🇦🇺🔥

While vacationing in Southern California with his family, Mitchell decided to carve out one day for something completely different: our Epic Mount Wilson Odyssey Downhill Adventure.

And this wasn’t his first rodeo.

Mitchell had recently competed in a mountain bike race back home and regularly rides with serious downhill riders in Australia, so we knew he was ready for a proper big-mountain day.

We paired him with advanced guide Emma, got everyone warmed up deep in the Angeles National Forest shuttling Chilao for a couple runs then headed for the Mount Wilson front side.

Mitchell also leveled up his experience with our premium Crestline upgrade

Eric kept the adventure rolling with shuttle support in the Raptor while we squeezed every bit of riding we could out of the day.

“10 out of 10 adventure.”
