The Nike SB Dunk High Pro x Beyond in White / Ivory / Sand Dune / Blue Void connects skate history with design history through a collaboration inspired by Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto. Known for his flowing, modernist swimming pool designs, Aalto unknowingly influenced a lineage that would echo through skateboarding decades later. Those pool forms helped inspire the empty Southern California backyard pools that 1970s skaters turned into proving grounds, paving the way for vertical skating.
