When our customer in Kentucky needed help moving this 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝟰𝟵𝟬𝟬 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸 from Ohio to his yard in Kentucky, he had two priorities:

📞 𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 and spent time verifying dimensions, weight, loading conditions, and equipment requirements. 𝗕𝘆 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 we had everything confirmed and the shipment was ready to go.

🎯 We had already spoken with a trusted carrier who could handle the load, but his rate was 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁. Rather than rushing into an expensive option, we continued searching for the right driver with the right equipment at the right price. 💰

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻, one of our trusted drivers out of Illinois called us back. 📞 🔙

He would be in the area. He had a 53' Step Deck with ramps. And he could meet our 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁. 🎯

The customer approved immediately. 👍

🥱 The pickup instructions seemed simple enough:

📍 Gate unlocked.
📍 Truck parked just inside.
📍 Key hidden inside the cab.

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁. Or so we thought. ⚠️

🚛 The driver was originally scheduled for Wednesday evening, but due to scheduling changes we moved pickup to 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

🌄 Early Thursday, our driver hit the road before 7:00 AM.

After fighting heavy traffic, he 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 at the pickup location. 🏁

That's when the real challenges began.

⚠️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 #𝟭:
The gate wasn't unlocked. In fact, it was 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 and inaccessible. 🔒

⚠️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 #𝟮:
The driver wasn't comfortable loading the truck by himself. 🫠

👨‍🦯 Because of the truck's bumper clearance and ramp angle, he wanted someone present to guide him during loading and help 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱.

🧠 𝗔 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

One small mistake loading a rollback truck can become an expensive repair. 😵

We 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 our customer, who began making calls trying to locate someone with access to the property. 📲

Eventually, he found a local contact who could help. 🤙

The only problem?

They were 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆. 🔭

And by then our driver had already been sitting on-site for quite some time. ⏱️

And after more than three hours of waiting, our driver successfully loaded and secured the truck. ✔

🚛 Once on the road, he made excellent time.

When our customer in Florida needed help transporting this 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝟱𝟬𝗣 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 from Texas to Florida, the request sounded simple at first:

At first she was requesting quotes from multiple pickup cities across Texas, but eventually the load landed in Fort Worth. 📍

Luckily, we had already been speaking with one of our 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿s who was finishing another delivery in Texas and could potentially take this as a PTL move back toward Florida.

Perfect setup. 👌

🚛 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 we secured the driver and dispatched him directly to the pickup yard after completing his prior delivery.

The plan:
📍 Pickup around 2 PM
📍 Load the excavator from another trailer
📍 Hit the road same afternoon

But then…
⚠️ 𝗗𝗢𝗧 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Our driver got pulled for inspection and lost valuable time on the road. ✋

Still, he pushed through and finally 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 at the pickup location 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟯 𝗣𝗠.

⇄ The excavator was still 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿, so after verifying serial numbers and coordinating the unload/reload process, he finally got everything transferred and secured properly.

By late afternoon:

✔️ Chained down
✔️ Ready to roll

Only one issue remained.❗

⏰ 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀.

He still needed to clear/reset hours, meaning he couldn’t legally begin the trip to Florida until Thursday morning. 💤

🎯 Originally we were targeting a 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆.

But then another problem hit:

Between traffic congestion and mandatory reset hours, Friday delivery became nearly impossible. ⏳

At first she was understandably frustrated — she had a tight schedule and unloading assistance already lined up. 😤

But after walking through:

And Florida traffic had one last surprise waiting for us. 🫣

Heavy congestion delayed the truck once again, pushing delivery closer to midday.

When our driver arrived at the first pickup location, the “𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲” 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 — and no assistance was provided.

⌛ After several failed attempts and hours wasted, our driver managed to revive the machine and load it himself.

That’s when the first alarm went off. 🚨

❌ No crane.
❌ No dock.
❌ No proper loading setup.

And the sweeper’s clearance was too low for ramps. 🚩
