RiverCities Transit is a public transportation agency that provides fixed route and Paratransit services to the communities of Longview and Kelso, Washington. REVIEW OF COWLITZ TRANSIT AUTHORITY BOARD MEMBER COMPOSITION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with RCW Chapter 42.30, that a Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 3:45 p.m. at a Special Meeting in the Longview City Hall Council Chamber, 1525 Broadway St, Longview, Washington and by Zoom Webinar.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive any comments concerning the review of the composition of the governing board of the Cowlitz transit Authority in accordance with RCW 36.57A.055.

Congratulations to our WA DOT 2026 Wall of Fame Honorees

Jerry Robeson – Transit Operator
Jerry Robeson received more Wall of Fame nominations from his peers than anyone else in RiverCities Transit history, a testament to the respect he has earned through his unwavering commitment to going above and beyond. Whether assisting a customer, supporting a fellow operator, or helping a dispatcher, Jerry is always willing to lend a hand.
One coworker remarked on the many passengers who regularly share how much they enjoy riding Jerry's bus, reflecting the positive impact he has on the people he serves every day. Jerry also maintains an exceptional driving and attendance record, often arriving at work before the dispatcher to ensure he is ready for the day ahead.
His outstanding dedication to customer service, exemplary work ethic, and consistently positive attitude embody the values of RiverCities Transit. For these reasons, RiverCities Transit is proud to recognize Jerry Robeson as a 2026 WSDOT Wall of Fame honoree.

Cheryl Grindle-Spain – Transit Operator

Cheryl is an outstanding operator who genuinely cares for her passengers and always looks out for their safety and well-being. She is innovative, bringing forward ideas that benefit both her coworkers and the organization.

RiverCities Transit and RiverCities LIFT will offer free fares from July 22 to July 25 to help riders attend the Cowlitz County Fair. This applies to all bus routes. By taking the bus, you can save on parking fees. Admission to the fair is free, and its operating hours are from noon to 11 PM. RiverCities Transit will operate on normal schedules. Monday-Friday 6:30 am to 7 pm, and Saturday 8 am to 6 pm. For route information, please visit our website at www.rctransit.org or call our customer service line at 360-442-5663.

RiverCities Transit and RiverCities LIFT will recognize Disability Pride Day on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as the official observance falls on a Sunday this year.

Disability Pride Day, celebrated on July 26, honors the history, achievements, and diverse identities of the disabled community. The observance began in Boston in 1990 to commemorate the signing of the landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Its goal is to challenge stigmas and promote equal inclusion.
