Since 1997, Peterson’s most anticipated annual release has been their Pipe of the Year — a celebration of the Irish marque’s legacy and pipe-making prowess. For 2026, their Pipe of the Year is the 493 Squat “Cad” Bulldog, inspired by one of Peterson’s oldest and most distinctive shapes. Appearing in Peterson’s catalog as early as 1896, the “Cad” Bulldog features a broad, low-slung, horizontal bowl, its breadth and stoutness reflecting Peterson’s characteristically muscular shaping aesthetic.

Each of these Pipe of the Year pieces is fitted with Peterson’s patented P-Lip mouthpiece and a bright silver accent — honoring the Irish firm’s celebrated engineering and silverwork. Individually serialized and limited to 1,100 pieces globally, this release also celebrates 30 years of Peterson’s Pipe of the Year series.

Cornell & Diehl’s ever-popular summertime Small Batch blend, Sun Bear, is back, this year in a Bourbon Cask edition, featuring black mangrove honey that was aged and matured for one year in a retired bourbon barrel. Sun Bear Bourbon Cask imparts the warm and subtly boozy character of the classic Sun Bear profile, elevated by the natural sweetness and fruitiness of the honey, as well as the deeper barrel-aged notes. This release is limited to 25,000 tins, available for retail sale on August 4 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
