Memorial Day is the opportunity to share once again the sculpture project that the Dad of one of our Longmont Airport Community created to honor his 12 fellow late aviators and to remember their sacrifices and that of the 88k aviators who were also killed in WWII.

The sculpturer and former WWII fighter pilot Fredric Arnold, also passed away on Memorial Day, in 2018 at the age of 96.

Great message. We have always loved having the Wings museum at free LMO events we have held in the past and encourage everyone in the community to go visit them. All thanks to support from the SCFD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District) and funded by the taxpayers of CO. As the SCFD says: "SCFD is proof that we are stronger together."

Thank you to those in the Longmont Airport Community for showing up as part of the 80+ who took part in the virtual public meeting with the City of Longmont last night. We will post the link to the meeting in the comments below. We especially appreciated the pilots who offered helpful and positive feedback during that public discussion. You can hear their call-ins at the end of the meeting.

It was also kudos to our airport community to hear the consultant with Airport Monitoring Systems say he was impressed by the comprehensive level of LMO's voluntary noise abatement program (VNAP) and that it was something he has not seen at most airports. You can view his comments starting at the 14:00 mark.

A reminder that the community survey about LMO airport "noise" closes on May 14th.
