For the past 17+ years, Teodoro Escalante, a driver at our Metropolitan Transit System South Bay location, has demonstrated an impeccable safety record. He appreciates the his responsibility to the well-being of his passengers and our #community.
In a recent incident caught on his bus camera video, Teodoro's quick thinking and awareness of his surroundings prevented a potential tragedy.
As he was approaching an intersection, Teodoro noticed a pedestrian standing unusually close to the curb. Sensing that something didn't seem quite right, and already traveling below the speed limit, Teodoro was able to gradually stop the bus as the pedestrian darted out in front of the vehicle. Thanks to Teodoro's vigilance and deliberate actions the pedestrian was not injured. Following safety protocol, he was able to secure his vehicle and alert dispatch and authorities.
We're grateful for Teodoro's dedication to keeping our roads safe and we're proud to celebrate him as a true Mobility Change Maker.

We're excited to celebrate driver Sarah Horton and road supervisor Antrese McCormick, both from our Bayway Transit location in Panama City, FL., for their incredible commitment to #safety.
On her regular early morning route Sarah called dispatch to alert them to a small child wandering in the street with no adult in sight. She quickly and safely secured her vehicle and brought the child on board, keeping them calm and safe until Antrese arrived. Antrese took the child to the closest police department and left them in the officers' care.
As she left the department, she heard radio chatter advising of another unacompanied child in the same area. Antrese pulled over and kept the second child safe, and alerted the police department of the situation. Officers were dispatched to the location where they found a third child without supervision.
The Panama City Police Department shared that without Sarah's and Antrese's awareness of their surroundings and quick action, the situation could have had a tragic outcome.
For their efforts, Sarah and Antrese were honored with awards at the recent Florida Public Transportation Association Annual Conference. ##Congratulations on your well deserved awards and for being #Transdev Mobility Change Makers.

As part of our #HispanicHeritageMonth activities we were honored to host Christina Villareal, Executive Director of Latinos In Transit, for a fantastic #LunchAndLearn. During the engaging and richly informative session Christina was able to interact with our teams and share a wealth of information about the essential work LIT does to advance underrepresented professionals in #transportation, the various career enhancing resources available to our people through our partnership with LIT, and opportunities to take advantage of their robust development programs.
