My name is Karen and I have been Caregiving since 2019. My husband and I have owned and operated Cornerstone Painting, a commercial and residential painting company in the area, since 1998. I got into Caregiving after my mother was diagnosed with dementia. I enjoyed being with her at her appointments and keeping her comfortable when she was in the hospital. Keeping her relaxed was my main concern.
I find it easy to talk to people and can find some common ground with anyone almost immediately. I have worked with some, their family would call them "challenging" clients and I am good at winning them over. I have been entrusted with everything from people's pets to their credit cards. I had a client once who had a large sum of cash out and was very distraught, she thought her property taxes were late and was trying to determine how she could get them paid. I took a photo of the cash, sent it to her daughter and let her know the safe place we found for it. We contacted the city to find the taxes were due that day but were not late. I helped her find her check book and drove her to city hall. She returned with a paid in full receipt and her cash safe at home. I already have several wonderful customers, I treat them like they are my own mom or dad. I try to anticipate their needs, if they need reminder calls, how much time they will need. Do they need an extra stop while we're out. I picked up some coffee for one of my clients while I was at Costco the other day, because she hadn't been able to get it at her regular store.
