Sharing my review of Má Là Taste of Sichuan, a particularly good Sichuan restaurant in Westminster, London. Including my trying Chinese morning glory, a rarity on US menus since it is consider invasive.

Before I had to head out to Wokingham for my work trip, I went out with Dan and Sophie for dinner. We wanted a place with some interesting cuisine that was still a short walk from Pimlico, and Dan had just the place picked out Chinese food at Má Là Taste of Sichuan.

Sharing my review of The Oakingham Belle in Wokingham, UK. A great newer neighborhood pub with a great selection of b**r and British pub classics, and a really great sticky toffee pudding.

While our group was attending the Farnborough Airshow, we staying at a hotel on the outskirts of Wokingham. This was convenient for our transportation to and from the Farnborough Airshow itself (Wokingham is about halfway between Heathrow and Farnborough), but the hotel itself was on the edge of to

Sharing my review of another Community Breakfast: the Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast of the United Church of Warner. Great blueberry pancakes!

As our regular readers know, we here at Offbeat Eats have been trying to avail ourselves of the various community meals that spring up around the region. Looking through the local Kearsarge Shopper as we approached the 4th of July holiday weekend, I noticed an announcement for Warner, NH’s United ...

Sharing my review of The Silo, in Queensbury, NY. Basically a locally-owned, better version of Cracker Barrel, with some great breakfast eats and c***r donuts.

During our annual trip to Lake George, we usually end up going out for breakfast several times, exploring the area. One of our more regular destinations (one that somehow has managed to avoid a review to this point, probably due to lack of photos) is down in Queensbury: The Silo. The Silo is one o

Sharing my review of Bacon & Batter, a breakfast-focused restaurant in Wallingford, VT. Great omelettes and hashes, and hope to go back at some point and try the pancakes as well.

Like most years, we spent almost a week in June attending the Ohana: Luau at the Lake charity even in Lake George, NY. Getting to Lake George always involves crossing Vermont East-West, which doesn't have any truly optimal routes. This time, we decided to take a more southerly route, taking us thro

Sharing my review of Josie's Country Café. Located in a general store in Ellsworth, ME, Josie's has a surprisingly diverse menu, ranging from American breakfast classics to Asian dishes like Filipino lumpia.

After a very pleasant hiking trip in Acadia National Park, we decided to have our celebration meal someplace that was on the way back towards NH and MA. We decided that Ellsworth, just outside of Acadia National Park. was a particular good spot to check out. Ellsworth started as a fishing site, th

Sharing my review of Beal's Lobster Pier in Southwest Harbor, Maine. One of the classic Acadia stops for lobster.

The majority of our trip to Acadia National Park was a hiking trip, and we had most of our meals either on the trail, or prepared in the campsite (despite camping, we ate pretty well, see my review of Fitpacking for the typical fare), halfway through our trip, we had planned an outing to one of the

Sharing my review of Woodman's Bar and Grill in Orono, ME. A great pub and restaurant for those looking for a nice dinner, or even just a pint of b**r while in the Orono area.

To rendezvous with everyone on our trip to Acadia National Park, we gathered at a hotel in Orono, ME, and needed to check out the local town for dinner. While Orono is primarily known as the home of the flagship University of Maine campus, it also has a small downtown alongside the Stillwater Rier,
