Good Afternoon LASD Families,

We are experiencing technical communication difficulties between our Transfinder (our bus routing program) and Sapphire Community Portal. Unfortunately bus/van schedules will not be available today as originally anticipated. Please allow the IT departments time to figure out and fix the issue(s). Another notice will be sent out once transportation schedules are available.

Good Afternoon Bolt Families,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of Mr. Jim's passing over the weekend. Mr. Jim was the bus driver for Bus #80 and also drove many sports and extra curricular activity trips for our Littlestown students. This news has not been shared with the students on his bus, as we feel it is best it comes from their parents. If your student feels they would like to speak with someone at school, counselors are standing by to help.

Students are welcome to bring cards, drawings, etc., for Mr. Jim's family, have them give it to the sub bus driver and we will make sure it reaches them.

Please join the Transportation Team in wishing our very own Glenn Snyder, Bus #78, the very best wishes on his retirement. Glenn has been driving for the district since May 2006, and will hang up his keys on Friday, January 19th. Glenn’s contagious laugh, endearing personality and compassion for his students, will be greatly missed. If you see Mr. Glenn next week, give him a big wave and wish him well on his new adventure!

Good Afternoon LASD Families,

This is to advise parents and guardians of important dates and information pertaining to student transportation.

Letters for rising 5th grade students (those going into 6th grade/MAMS in the new school year) have been mailed out. Keep watch for this letter in your mailbox and return the transportation form by July 25th, to ensure your student has transportation on the first day of school.

The cut off date for ALL transportation changes is August 3rd. This allows time to get routes and bus schedules set for our drivers.

Transportation changes received after the cut off date will be processed beginning on September 5th, in the order they were received.

If you move over the summer, you must contact your school's office and provide "proof of residency" prior to us processing any address changes on your transportation requests.

If you have a change in daycare provider or after school programs and it affects your students transportation, you will need to submit a transportation form. Please see above for deadline dates.

Please make sure you can access your Sapphire Parent Portal, all bus information will be posted there the week before school starts.

Lastly, please have students out at their bus stop 10 minutes earlier than their bus stop time and allow for buses to have a 10-minutes window after your bus stop time for the first two weeks of school. Schedules may be adjusted due to additional changes to routes.

Please keep in mind that that our office telephone lines can be tied up the week before and two weeks after the start of school. Please do not leave duplicate messages as this delays our getting back to each call. Do plan accordingly and make calls prior to the start of the school year to ensure your questions are answered. Alternatively, you can email [email protected] with your questions and we will either email or call you back (please include a phone number in your email).

Our Summer office hours are Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. through August 10th. Regular office hours (Monday -Friday) will resume the week of August 14th. Enjoy your summer and we'll see you on August 24th!

Parents/Guardians: A personal Apple device (not a school issued device) was found on a bus prior to the Thanksgiving break. No one claimed ownership when the driver asked if it belonged to anyone. If your student lost an Apple device, please email the transportation office with an exact description of the item (type/model/color, etc.) so we can return it to you.
