We are a full service freight dispatching company for small trucking companies and truck owner-operators. Here at JBI our job is to find you the best freight and cargo loads possible . Our goal is to get each of our carriers the highest paying loads and to keep you moving regularly. Every minute sitting here is a minute you're not making money, but the fuel bill doesn't care that you're stuck. Detention pay exists for exactly this reason — and too many carriers either don't know they're owed it or don't have anyone actually fighting to collect it.
That's not a small thing. Two hours of detention on a slow month is the difference between a decent week and a rough one.
A dispatcher's job isn't just booking the load. It's making sure you get paid for every hour that load actually costs you — including the ones spent sitting still.

Every long-haul driver's heard about the black dog.
Whether you believe it's real or you know it's your body telling you something, the message is the same: if you're deep into a run, exhausted, and you start seeing things at the edge of your headlights that shouldn't be there — that's not a sign to push through. That's your brain telling you it's done.
Microsleep, hallucinations, tunnel vision — they're well-documented effects of driving fatigue, and they show up right when you're most convinced you can push another hour.
No load is worth finding out the hard way. If something feels off, if your eyes are playing tricks, if you catch yourself not remembering the last few miles — pull off, shut it down, and sleep.
The freight will still be there tomorrow. Make sure you are too.

Weekend Reset Spotlight: Stone's Truck Stop — Watertown, SD

Add 10 showers, a driver's lounge, laundry, and 110 parking spots, and it's an easy stop to actually settle into for a night instead of just passing through.

A deep partial lunar eclipse hits its peak late tonight — roughly 96% of the moon covered by Earth's shadow, turning it a deep coppery red. It's visible across nearly the entire country, no equipment needed, and it's genuinely the best lunar eclipse we'll get until late 2028.
Timing varies by time zone, but the action starts around 9:23 PM ET, with maximum eclipse hitting close to midnight ET (9:12 PM PT out west).

Two hours left on the clock and you still don't know where you're stopping tonight.
That's a specific kind of stress that has nothing to do with driving and everything to do with planning nobody did for you. A good dispatcher doesn't just find the load — they think about where you'll actually be when your hours run out, and they tell you before you're doing the math yourself at 65 miles an hour.
Dry van, flatbed, step deck, hotshot. The clock's the same for everyone. The difference is whether someone's watching it with you.
