Had a good work day this morning at the creek. Got the rest of the new signage put up. Low hanging limbs removed as well as some old barb wire. Even got the field freshly cut. Thanks to all who came out!

The remaining supplies were delivered today.
Deliveries included Banner Elk, Avery County, Swannanoa, and Arden.

Whew! What an incredible two weeks it has been.
We have met and connected with so many people and fellow aviators from all over NC and the US. 🇺🇲

Maybe we're biased, but we think aviation is the coolest. 😎

We couldn't be more grateful to each and every person that made this possible.

This tiny airport has made a BIG impact in helping Western NC with Hurricane Helene Relief.

So many people had a hand in this.
YOU made it happen. 💪🏻
The outpouring of love and support has been a blessing and has touched many.

✨If you volunteered your time or your aircraft, please drop any pics you have in the comments and tell us where and what state you traveled from so we can personally thank you!

We plan to have an estimated update in the coming days with the number of loads sent out, monetary donations received, gallons of fuel used etc.

‼️If looking for local donation drop-off sites, we recommend:

1439 Blowing Rock Blvd, Lenoir NC (they are working directly with Banner Elk currently) and they are accepting all donations. 7 days a week 11am-4pm

Hudson First Church at 345 Main St, Hudson NC and they are accepting all donations but no clothing. __________________________________________________

We petition you to go out and use your gifts to serve others. Selflessly love your family and your neighbors.
May this be a testament as to how much we truly need one another. 🫶🏻

Wow! What an incredibly efficient day of donations coming in and and donations going out. 🤗

We are no longer accepting donations.

Tomorrow, we will shift directions and primarily focus on getting everything delivered to where it needs to be.

High priority will go out first via aircraft and other loads by truck/trailer. 🛩️🛻

We will need volunteers on the ground helping to finish sorting items and compiling items based on the need and where it will be delivered.

We also need volunteers to bring a truck/trailer and haul loads to delivery sites.
Thank you to those who have already stepped up and reached out for this.

Any pilots that would like to fly high priority items tomorrow please coordinate with us via FB messenger before landing.

We will begin at 9AM

Please go and support the BEST airport restaurant around! Wingz Grill located at Hickory Airport is now back open. 🙌🏻🛩️🍔😋

They were shut down while rescue missions and supply drops were being operated out of Hickory Airport (HKY) for Hurricane Helene relief efforts.

They need our support while they get back up and running. You will not be disappointed!

WE WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW!!

We are opening from 11-3 and will be running on a limited menu just so we can get back into the swing of things.

We were so honored to be apart of the amazing operation going on here at Hickory Airport and will continue to do all we can to support Western NC. But we are so ready to see all of our favorite smiling faces again.

Friday and Saturday this week may run a little differently then normal, but Monday we will open regular hours and regular operations.

Thank you all for your support to the restaurant and it has been so heart warming to watch this community come together for our neighbors. Let’s keep it up for the weeks, months and years to come. Love you all, LETS EAT!! ✈️

Supplies brought it, supplies went out. 💪🏻

We were able to get donations/supplies out to Banner Elk, Collettsville, Boone, and Black Mountain today.
Some by plane and some by car/truck. 🛩️🚗💨

We are still accepting donations until Friday, October 11th between 7am and 7pm. No longer accepting clothing or shoes.

Any volunteers wanting to give their time and vehicle/trailer and take a load of supplies to distribution sites from a list of addresses we provide, please let us know.

We have already had some volunteers do this and some step up for Saturday as well.
For that, we are so grateful!✨
