🚨 FMCSA Revokes 12 ELDs — Drivers Must Switch Before July 20, 2026

FMCSA has officially revoked 12 electronic logging devices, and carriers using them now have a 60‑day window to replace the units with an approved ELD.

After July 20, 2026, any driver still running one of the revoked devices may be treated as operating without an ELD, which can lead to citations and out‑of‑service orders.

What drivers should know:
• Check whether your current ELD is on the revoked list
• If it is, your carrier must switch to paper logs or logging software during the transition
• A compliant ELD must be installed before the July deadline to avoid enforcement issues
• Hours‑of‑service records must still be available during the switch

FMCSA has now removed 79 ELDs since 2025, reinforcing the importance of staying compliant and up to date.

There’s been a lot of talk about ma*****na being moved to Schedule III — but DOT just made one thing crystal clear:

Nothing has changed for CDL drivers.
A positive ma*****na test still counts, even if the driver has a state medical ma*****na card, doctor’s note, or dispensary receipt.

DOT reminded the industry that:
• State ma*****na laws do not override federal DOT rules
• MROs cannot mark a ma*****na-positive test as negative
• Medical ma*****na programs do not qualify as a legitimate medical explanation
• A positive test can impact hiring, job status, and safety‑sensitive eligibility

For drivers, owner‑operators, and fleets, this is a serious compliance reminder. Stay informed, stay safe, and protect your career.
