Built with a focus on realistic railroad practices, operations are conducted under the Shortline Code of Operating Rules, with scheduled passenger and train-ordered freight service.

The railroad acquired a 3D printer late last year, and since then it’s been running nonstop. One of the biggest projects thus far is printing a new bridge just outside of Delaware. Today I was able to install it, replacing the original wooden bridge.

The bridge is based off the Copper Hill Trestle on the Black River & Western Railroad, which can be seen from Route 202.

We’re spending the day with the North Hampton and Delaware Valley Railroad Company at the Cabin Fever Engineering Show. Representing the DL&S is the Lady Anne and Shay No. 3. Today marks the first time Lady Anne has run since its completion. There are still a few kinks to work out, but it’s great to run some steam during the winter months.

A Roundhouse Lady Anne steam locomotive visited the railroad recently. This motivated me to pull mine out of storage and finally finish it. With the body work now mostly complete, the plan is to install radio control, paint, and find some European passenger cars to pair with it.
