Part two of our trip to Lebanon. No matter how a county tries to hide or move their courthouse we will find it! Here we are at the original site of the Wilson County Courthouse and its still extant square. The courthouse may be gone, but Neddy Jacobs cabin still stands!
Trip 11: Stop 4 Part 2

Our fourth and unexpected stop on the second chance express brought us back to Wilson County and its county seat, Lebanon. Lebanon, may be most famous for being the home of that oasis of the freeways in the South, Cracker Barrel. Like a few counties we visited the courthouse was moved to another part of town, but our "Courthouse Sense" (patent pending) led us right to the original courthouse square. This first video indicts our lack of attention from our first visit.

Named after General William Trousdale this county has the unusual distinction of 1/5 of its population residing at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center!

Our third stop on the second chance express finds us in Trousdale County and Hartsville, Tennessee. To be more accurate we are in the consolidated Hartsville/Trousdale County the smallest such consolidated community in the state. This is a place of redemption for me, because I was ugly to the fair city of Hartsville on our last visit. I apologize to the good people of Hartsville/ Trousdale County. According to sources this is the smallest county by area in the state of Tennessee.

Our second stop on the second chance express finds us in Somerville, the county seat of Fayette County. During his discussion of the county he reveals the terrible and disturbing truth about how we were able to gather enough funds to undertake this trip. This is the furthest west we go on this leg, and we head back to Middle Tennessee. A lovely town, and an excellent place to see in both day or night.

We decided to head back to some of the counties that we never saw in the light of day. The first leg of our comeback tour through West and Middle Tennessee brought us to Hardeman County and Bolivar (rhymes with Oliver) Tennessee. Watch Dad embarrass himself and discuss an assault he suffered from a Hardeman County tree. This may be past our initial 365, but it was well worth a return visit.

3 and a half years ago we said there would be new videos and pictures going up soon. We meant soon based on geological time. This week they're finally coming. Tell your friends, neighbors, and complete strangers. Their lives will have meaning once again.

Back downtown in Wi******er, TN, the county seat for Franklin County, last week. Thinking about heading back to see the Lego Movie at the Oldham!

Drove by the Lincoln County Courthouse today and it's still as beautiful as I remembered. Also the Lincoln Theater accross the street now has digital projectors! Glad to see the small town theaters can afford to upgrade and stay open.
