Should I really care what’s inside my dock float? Yes! The Army Corps of Engineers certainly does in the case of a breach. Unfused pellets inside the shell spilling out into the water is not what they want to see. A solid block of foam on the other hand not only doesn’t have loose beads, but it also has more buoyancy which means less floats to buy and install. Formex is the only manufacture to use lag bolts going into our mounting strips for easy and quick installation. Faster, easier, and more efficient installations of fewer floats means less cost for you!

Ever wonder what actual owners think of their Snap Lock Chicken Coops? Just read their testimonials. This one from a customer with multiple, multiple I mean multiple Snap Lock Coops in both sizes!
Brenda, Sherry, and all of our friends at My Pet Chicken and Formex,
Here's current images of our Chicken Village plus a text file "Why Snap Lock?". Mark wrote it and it accurately tells the story of our love affair with Formex Chicken Coops. Our 150 chickens have voted, and it's unanimous. We'd be honored if you tell our story on the Snap Lock page.
We got the nest box lids..... THANK YOU!!!!! Our chickens are safe again.
Lots of love from me, Mark, and the chickens,
Why They Are So Great
They never wear out, discolor, go out of shape or rot. We have juggled our 20 coops around over the six years we've been using them and you cannot tell which was the first one we bought. They all still look like new and wash up beautifully.
Double wall construction helps keep birds cooler in summer and warmer in winter. The plastic is strong; nothing short of a bear is getting in there. Raccoons have very sharp claws that are like sewing needles and teeth that can bite through thin metal, but they are NO match for Formex durable UV-resistant plastic.
These coops are durable, and after a hurricane picked one up, threw it 20 feet, and blew it to pieces, we gathered the parts and snapped them back together. We have no idea which one was damaged because they all still look like new.
Small and large coops fit on the same size stand. Snap Lock comes with simple plans to build the stand from 2x4 lumber. I use pressure-treated 2x4s and outdoor construction screws. The stands make it so much easier to collect eggs. Having a coop on a stand makes it even more difficult for a predator to get in, which they never have.
The shipping box is very durable too. We have never received a damaged coop. We have construction down to about 15 minutes after opening the carton. We recommend leaving the coop in the box until you're ready to assemble it, as this helps keep the parts from becoming misshapen in the hot sun.
We have had trees fall on them, hurricanes blow them over, and raccoons and other animals attack them. Nobody gets into a Formex. The birds love them too.
We keep a brand-new, in-the-box Snap Lock coop in stock just in case we need emergency housing.
When Mary bought the first one, I thought it looked like a kiddy house, but after using it for six months I was totally sold. They are not inexpensive until you consider the wooden alternatives (we have several rotting in our coop boneyard). The cheap wood houses barely last a year, and they don't keep your birds safe. Raccoons can sink their needle-like claws into the wood and pull them apart.
Wood rots. Formex does not!
Easy to assemble, durable, long-lasting, and available in two sizes to accommodate flocks of varied sizes. Not cheap, but worth it!
See attached photos! Have a great week!!
