Disaster Drill is STILL ON for tonight!🚨

From 6:00 to 8:30 PM, Arnold Palmer Regional Airport will host our full-scale disaster drill.

We have been in contact with the National Weather Service and today's rain is expected to clear.

The drill prepares our emergency response partners for the full range of aviation activity at LBE and is required by the FAA every three years.

Residents in the vicinity will notice increased emergency vehicle activity during this period. Area fire departments, ambulance crews, and hospital personnel will be on-site participating in a coordinated response simulation.

We extend our appreciation to the emergency response agencies and community volunteers whose participation makes this critical training possible.

05/04/2026

Arnold Palmer Regional Airport is open and fully operating. LBE supports general aviation, charter flights, corporate travel, flight training, and a range of aviation services every day. We know commercial passenger service is what's top of mind right now, and our team is working actively on what's next.

On Wednesday, we welcomed back more than 130 students from 10 Westmoreland County School Districts to present their findings as a part of the Annual Airport Design Competition. ✈️

Back in the fall, teams were tasked with putting together a marketing plan to attract new service and passengers to the airport, along with designing a space they believe would benefit travelers inside our terminal expansion. We appreciated seeing the ideas and perspectives brought forward by middle and high school students from across the county.

Congratulations to the teams who took home the top spots this year! 🏆
