Vegas — but make it a girls trip ❤️✨

A few days with my mom and Mayson filled with late nights, lots of laughs, and the kind of memories you wish you could bottle up forever. We stayed at The Reserve at Park MGM, wandered miles of the Strip exploring over-the-top hotels, listened to the beautiful voices of the gondola guides echo throughout the Venetian, window shopped the luxury stores at the Bellagio, and soaked up all the chaos and energy at New York New York.

And then… NKOTB. Honestly one of the BEST concerts I’ve ever been to — pure nostalgia, dancing like teenagers again, strained voice afterward, zero regrets.

We traded neon lights for desert views and rented a car for a day trip to Death Valley — which decided to completely surprise us. One of the hottest, driest places on earth somehow gave us wind, rain, chilly temps, and even snow at higher elevations. Not exactly what we hoped for… but somehow even more unforgettable.

We also made the mandatory stop at the TikTok-famous Saint Honoré for doughnuts and beignets (still dreaming about them), ate way too much amazing food, walked approximately a gazillion, and Mayson managed to squeeze in multiple In-N-Out runs… because priorities.

Three generations. A little chaos. A lot of laughter. Pure goofiness, sore feet, desert views, and memories that will stick with us long after the suitcases are unpacked.

Flashback Friday to a year full of epic adventures! ✨
From the charm of Charleston, SC to deep underground at Mammoth Cave, 2024 was one for the books.
We wandered waterfalls in Cuyahoga Valley, got rugged in the Badlands, and watched bison roam in Custer State Park 🦬
We were awestruck by Glacier, chased geysers in Yellowstone, and soaked in the serenity of Grand Teton 🌲
And of course, we danced through Nashville with country tunes in our heads 🎶
Here’s to the wild, wonderful road that brought us so many memories 🚐💛

Fall Break Day 3: Thus morning, we took the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroaf from the Akron Northside Station to the Peninsula station and back. If I did it again, I’d do it the other way around and start at Peninsula. We were a little underwhelmed by it overall. I think part of that was the fact that it’s only running half the route due to erosion so we didn’t get to see much of the National park. Also, we didn’t have time to get out at the station and walk around, so it just didn’t keep the kids’ attention for two hours. But I’m glad we did it! After the train ride, we drove to the Ledges trailhead and had a picnic lunch in the gorgeous field adjacent to the parking lot. Eric and Liv wanted to toss ball. We didn’t have one with us but we had oranges so they tossed oranges!! After lunch, we hiked Ledges. I love this trail. It’s not difficult but has really cool rock features. It’s very shaded and super fun. Next, we drove over to Boston Mill Visitir Center to get the girls’ Junior Ranger badges. We headed back to the campground for trick or treating, which started at 3:30. Bit of a snafu because they shut down the roads in the campground at 3:15, which hadn’t been posted anywhere (everywhere just said the roads would be closed during trick or treating). The worst part was we got there at 3:16 and they let the two cars in front of us through but not us. Despite the frustration, we parked outside the campground and headed to our site on foot, threw on Ellianna’s costume (her Jr Ranger vest and backpack of course) and poured candy into a bowl. Eric and Liv handed out candy while I took Ellianna around. She had a great time and got so much candy!! We made it through most of the campground before she threw in the towel so we made our way back. DIY pizzas for dinner. The girls ride their bikes for a while. We finished the night with a haunted trail in the campground. It was a lot of fun, and the girls loved it!!! We’ve had a great fall break. Home bound tomorrow!

Fall Break Day 2: Drove to Cleveland this morning. Brunch at the Haunted House Restaurant. Ellianna was terrified initially but eventually warmed up to Michael Myers! The pancakes were fantastic. Eric didn’t love his Poultrygeist as much as he thought he would. I’d recommend trying to get a reservation for dinner - I’m guessing a lot more characters are out then. After we ate, we headed over to Great Lakes Science Center and Bicentennial Park on Lake Erie. Highly recommend the science center. We were there for almost 3 hours and wished we could’ve stayed longer. Next, we wandered through Westside Market. With it being close to closing time, there were lots of great deals. We even ended up with a flat of strawberries for $5!!! We finished off our day in Cleveland checking out Little Italy eating dinner at Mama Santa Pizzeria. On the way back, we passed a Rita’s Italian Ice so we had to stop of course!!! Finishing the night with board games. More fun tomorrow!!!

Fall Break Day 1: Got to West Branch State Park last night after dark. Got up this morning and had a light breakfast in the RV. Headed over to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Stopped at the Boston Mill Visitor Center and picked up Junior Ranger books. Completed the Sense of Boston Quest (super fun). Drove to Brandywine Falls trailhead. Had a picnic lunch and then walked the short hike to the falls overlooks. We forgot to charge our bikes last night so we had to drive back to the campground and get them. Then we drove over to the Botzum Station lot near Akron to get to the Towpath to ride. We rode to the Beaver Marsh and then to Szalay’s market. We did the corn maze and the “haunted” house and then grabbed some fruit from the market which we devoured while resting at one of their swinging tables. We hit the trail again and rode about 7 miles before turning around and heading back. Dinner at Mike’s Place which is always super fun. Dessert at Insomnia Cookie. Back to the camper and kids in bed before 9:30!! Looking forward to another fun-filled day tomorrow!!!

The G6 Family

We are a family of 6 that LOVE to travel, especially in our travel trailer. Both Eric and Kelly work full time, so our RV travels are vacations. We and our four daughters (Mayson, Sophia, Olivia, and Ellianna) love exploring new places. We’ve been RV traveling part-time since summer of 2017 and found that there’s a lot of information for full-time RV families and for general RV travel but not so much geared toward RV families who do it as a vacation. So we’ve created a podcast to talk about our insights and to give travel tips, campground reviews and trip reports. We also have completely different personalities so we want to provide you with multiple perspectives. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, so let’s explore and get lost together in the amazing world of RV vacations!
