There's a very specific kind of confidence you get when you're having an absolute BLAST in Las Vegas.

And there's a very specific kind of regret waiting for you when Vegas decides you've had enough. πŸ’€

The FIJI water, emergency snacks and full-body surrender really tell the whole story.

Vegas remains undefeated.

Please tell me we're not the only ones who've gone from "WE OWN THIS CITY!" to "SOMEBODY BRING ME WATER!" in the same trip. πŸ˜‚

What's the most spectacular way Vegas has ever humbled YOU?

My relationship with Las Vegas slot machines is the DEFINITION of toxic. πŸŽ°πŸ’”πŸ˜‚

One minute, I’m storming out of the casino after a BRUTAL night, swearing I’m never playing another slot machine as long as I live.

A few hours of sleep, a coffee and a wildly unrealistic amount of optimism later…

Suddenly, I’m crawling back to the EXACT SAME machine, apologizing like I’M the one who did something wrong. πŸ₯ΉπŸ˜‚

Apparently, all it takes to forgive a slot machine for absolutely destroying your bankroll is convincing yourself that TODAY is going to be different.

And somehow, despite years of evidence to the contrary, I believe it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Vegas regulars, be honest. πŸŽ°πŸ‘‡

What’s the ONE slot machine you keep going back to, no matter how badly it treats you?

Two years ago today, we discovered why Bar Canada keeps a HOCKEY STICK behind the bar. πŸ’ 🍻

to October 15, 2024, when four grown men decided that drinking shots out of a hockey stick in the middle of a Las Vegas casino was a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

...And you know what? We've done it several times since. (Check out our latest Vegas Vlog series on YT if you don't believe me)

Now, don't get me wrong. Bar Canada at The D Hotel & Casino in on Fremont Street was already one of our favourites long before this moment.

Ashley swears they make the best Caesars she's ever had in Vegas ...I wouldn't know. Call me crazy, but I personally think combining tomato juice, clam juice and vodka sounds more like a punishment than a cocktail. 🀒 But to each their own.

With that said, a HUGE shoutout to the bartenders at Bar Canada for offering some of the friendliest and consistently top self service on Fremont!

Now I'm curious...

What's YOUR must-stop bar on Fremont Street πŸ‘‡

Las Vegas is the ONLY place where my bank account can be having a full-blown crisis while I’m experiencing absolute inner peace. πŸ˜‚πŸ’Έ

$50 per night resort fees? Offensive.

$17 for ONE slice of pizza? Criminal.

$23 for a boozy slushie served in a cup the size of a traffic cone? TAKE MY MONEY. 🍹

And the slot machines? Let’s just say I’m apparently running a very generous charitable organization. πŸŽ°πŸ˜‚

Yet, somehow, despite every questionable financial decision, I have never been happier.

Some people pay thousands of dollars for wellness retreats to find inner peace. I just need a trip to Las Vegas and a complete disregard for my financial well-being. 😌

What’s the most RIDICULOUS thing you’ve paid for in Vegas that you’d STILL happily pay for again? πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‡

πŸ’‰ In Las Vegas, $10 won't get you very far. Unless you want something that lasts FOREVER. πŸ˜‚

Some people collect Vegas magnets. Others collect shot glasses.

Apparently, Ashley and I have developed a slightly unhealthy obsession with collecting $10 tattoos from Koolsville Tattoo in Las Vegas.

What started as a fun little Vegas souvenir has become dangerously close to a MUST-STOP every time we're in town.

And honestly? There are worse habits to pick up in Las Vegas.

MUCH worse... and MUCH more expensive. πŸ˜‚

If you've been thinking about getting one of Koolsville's famous $10 tattoos, here are a few things we've learned from our visits:

πŸ’΅ BRING CASH! The $10 tattoo specials are cash only. And please, bring some extra to tip your artist. Just because the tattoo is cheap doesn't mean the artist's time and talent aren't worth appreciating.

🎨 THERE ARE RULES! No, you can't walk in with a picture of your dog and expect a $10 portrait on your butt cheek. πŸ˜‚ The $10 tattoos come from a selection of pre-drawn designs, with placement limited to shoulder-to-wrist or knee-to-ankle areas. Larger designs and other options are available at different prices.

⏰ BE PREPARED TO WAIT! Tattoos are walk-in only, and wait times can vary considerably. We've waited an hour and a half on one visit and been in and out in under 30 minutes on another. It's all part of the adventure!

πŸ“ LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Koolsville has several locations throughout Las Vegas, but our personal favourite is the Main Street shop in the Arts District. Why? Because it's right near a couple of our favourite affordable Vegas watering holes: ReBar and Davy's. 🍻

Seriously, this is a fun little area to explore, especially if you're looking to escape Strip prices for an afternoon. We actually featured all three spots in a recent Vegas vlog! (Episode link in the comments. πŸŽ₯)

❀️ AND THIS PART IS IMPORTANT! We've visited Koolsville SEVERAL times now, and every single experience we've had has been extremely professional.

From the artists and their setup to cleanliness, the tattooing process and detailed aftercare instructions, we've always felt comfortable and well taken care of.

Obviously, we can only speak to our own experiences, but the Koolsville locations we've visited have been every bit as professional as other tattoo shops we've been to. And that's worth mentioning when you're talking about a TEN-DOLLAR tattoo.

At this point, we're running out of room for souvenirs that don't require a healing period. πŸ˜‚

NOW I'M CURIOUS: Have you ever gotten a tattoo while visiting Las Vegas? And if so, what did you get and where?**

Or are you one of those responsible people who prefers their Vegas memories to be a little less permanent? πŸ˜‚

10/14/2026

Las Vegas turns my wife and me into COMPLETELY different people. πŸ˜‚πŸŽ°

🏠 AT HOME: By 9:30 PM, we’re exhausted, negotiating who’s getting up to turn off the lights, and wondering if it’s too early to go to bed.

🎰 IN LAS VEGAS: It’s 2 AM on Fremont Street, the drinks are flowing, we’re dancing like we’re 22 again, and somehow β€œONE MORE CASINO!” seems like an entirely reasonable suggestion. πŸ˜‚πŸΉ

Same marriage. Same two people. ABSOLUTELY NO resemblance to the responsible adults we pretend to be back home. 🀣

Apparently, all we need to rediscover our youthful energy is a couple of plane tickets and a questionable amount of casino optimism. ✈️🎲

Anyone else have a completely different personality when they’re in Vegas? πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‡

I once spent $53 USD on a bag of M&M's in Las Vegas.

And the worst part? I would (WILL) do it again. 🍫

Apparently, today is *National M&M's Day*. (Yes, that's a real thing. And yes, I'm a little embarrassed that I knew.)

Which makes this the perfect opportunity to confess one of my deepest, darkest Las Vegas secrets...

**I LOVE M&M'S WORLD IN LAS VEGAS!**

There. I said it. Judge away. πŸ˜‚

And I'm not talking about a quick "we've got 10 minutes to kill" visit. I'm talking about a full-blown, EVERY-TRIP Vegas tradition.

We're talking filling a ridiculously overpriced bag with all the M&M's flavours we can't get back home in Canada. Checking to see if they've FINALLY added a Purple M&M mug to add to our collection. And, of course, that magical moment at checkout when the cashier says:

"Good news, sir! You've spent enough to qualify for a COMPLIMENTARY tote bag!"

Ah, yes. Nothing says financial responsibility quite like spending $53 USD on candy and celebrating because you got a free bag to carry it in. 🀣

Look, I KNOW it's a cheesy Las Vegas tourist trap. I KNOW there are approximately 10,000 better ways to spend $53 in Vegas.

But at this point, it's become one of OUR Vegas traditions. And we're not stopping anytime soon.

Which got me thinking...

Surely we're not the only Vegas degenerates with an embarrassingly cheesy tourist tradition?

πŸ₯€ Maybe it's buying a new souvenir cocktail cup every trip.

πŸ›Ά Maybe you've ridden the gondolas at The Venetian so many times you're singing along with the gondolier.

πŸ“Έ Or maybe you've accumulated a collection of those restaurant photos that start as a "complimentary souvenir" and somehow turn into a $35 memory in a cardboard frame.

(We're guilty of that last one. We have a photo from lunch at BLONDIES, of all places, that cost MORE THAN THE ACTUAL MEAL. πŸ˜‚)

**So, what's YOUR shameless Las Vegas tourist-trap tradition?**

Something you do every trip, fully aware it's ridiculous, but refuse to give up?

Come on. This is a judgement-free zone. Mostly. πŸ‘‡πŸ˜‚

πŸΉπŸ’Έ LAS VEGAS DRINK HACK: Because those giant frozen cocktails aren’t getting any cheaper! πŸ˜‚

Don’t get us wrong. We LOVE a giant boozy souvenir slushie on the Las Vegas Strip as much as the next Vegas degenerate.

But sometimes you look at the price and think, β€œFor THAT much, does it come with a free hotel night?!” 🀣

Enter the humble 7-Eleven Slurpee and a little DIY adult creativity. πŸ₯ΆπŸΉ

Same frozen Vegas vibes. A whole lot less financial damage. And more money left over for making questionable decisions at the slot machines. πŸŽ°πŸ’Έ

Because Vegas is already going to take our money. We don’t need to make it THAT easy.

SO, WHAT’S YOUR MOVE? πŸ‘‡

🍹 Pay extra for the giant souvenir cocktail?
πŸ’Έ Save a few bucks with the budget-friendly Slurpee hack?

There's a very specific kind of Las Vegas heartbreak that only true slot-machine degenerates understand. πŸŽ°πŸ’”

You find a machine you LOVE. You play it every trip. You develop a completely unreasonable emotional attachment to it.

And then, one day... **IT'S GONE!** 😭

For me, that heartbreak came courtesy of **TRIPLE DOUBLE DIAMOND DELUXE WITH CHEESE** at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. πŸ”

While Ashley was gallivanting through the Miracle Mile Shops, I'd settle in for an hour or so of glorious, low-stakes entertainment.

A 25Β’ denomination. Just three credits per max bet. A ridiculously entertaining bonus that seemed to hit often enough to keep things interesting. And, as an added perk, the cocktail service at this particular spot always seemed to be ON POINT. πŸΉπŸ˜‚

For those who never had the pleasure, the bonus was half the fun!

Land the blonde waitress on the third reel and the action shifted to that glorious burger-themed board above. You'd roll the dice, circle the board collecting credits, and hope to land on two fries to advance to the next level where the prizes got a little bigger.

Of course, land on COLLECT and the party was over. 🍟

Did I ever win anything substantial? Absolutely not.

Did I love this machine anyway? YOU BET YOUR ASS I DID. πŸ˜‚

The last time I played it was October 2024. When we returned in May 2025, my beloved machine was nowhere to be found.

No farewell spin. No closure. Just heartbreak.

And yes, I'm STILL a little bitter about it. πŸ˜‚

An honourable mention goes to **Elvis Shake Rattling Reels** at Casino Royale. Another absolute beauty that's no longer where I remember it.

**NOW I WANT TO KNOW: Which Las Vegas slot machine do YOU miss the most?** πŸŽ°πŸ‘‡

Tell me the game AND which casino you used to play it at. I need to know how many of us are still mourning our favourite machines! πŸ˜‚

Bottomless mimosas in Las Vegas… and my wife wants me to β€œtake it easy.” πŸ₯‚πŸ˜‚

I’m sorry, but since when does BOTTOMLESS come with terms and conditions?! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Apparently, we have VERY different interpretations of what we’re paying for at Vegas brunch.

Every relationship has a mimosa enthusiast and a designated mimosa supervisor. Pretty sure you can guess which one I am. πŸ˜‚
